Using a damp cloth, brush off any dirt or debris from the article to be polished. Next, apply a leather cleaner and/or conditioner if desired. Wait for the item to fully dry. Before beginning to work with polish, cover your work surface with newspaper to prevent staining and for easy cleanup. Using the shoe polish applicator brush, pick up a bit of polish and apply it to the article in a circular motion. Cover the entire surface including seams evenly. Repeat if necessary, applying a second thin layer. Place shoes on newspaper and allow to dry for 10-20 mins. Once the polish has fully dried, use the shoe shining brush to bring the surface to a gleaming shine. Using a back and forth motion, brush the entire shoe vigorously. This will buff off all the excess polish and leave only a small film on the outside of the article. Once complete, allow shoes to dry for 20 minutes before wear. For regularly worn shoes, we recommend shining them once a week and for occasional wear once a month or the night before.

Nice wood and good quality horsehair
Nice wood and good quality horsehair. Suitable for the supplest of leathers. Very gentle.You will have to use it a dozen or more times before the hairs are properly broken in.Only complaint: wooden handles are cut with sharp 90 degree corners and may create hot spots (in the hand) if used on several pairs of shoes at a sitting.

These brushes work great for buffing my shoes
Doesn't really make sense to comment on fit. These brushes work great for buffing my shoes. I'm not sure how much I like the small brush for applicating, I've seen people opt for brushes without handles for that as well as just using a cloth, but it worked well. I liked the big brush, too.While there was a bit of shedding, it was fairly small and about the same as all the other natural hair brushes I've bought and used in the past.

Looks and feels great; does a great job.
I'd be happy to take a picture of my collection of oxfords and bluchers to show you; this brush set makes polishing so easy. I have a several pairs of walnut colored oxfords (with various degrees of brogue detailing). I purchased this set for the walnut color only. I expect I'll purchase more for my black and regular brown leather shoes. I hit that point in my sartorial journey where I wondered why generally we don't take care of shoes the way our grandfathers did. I decided to rectify that and I'm looking forward to seeing how years of regular polishing will condition my shoes. What can I say, the horsehair brush look sand feels fantastic. It brings up a quick shine and I'm assured it doesn't scratch the leather the way a rougher brush might.

Great Horsehair brush!!!
This is the first shoe shine brush i’ve purchased and owned. I have used it on the two pairs of Allen Edmonds I own. The brush is a little small (or maybe my hands are just that big). Either way, I am satisfied with my purchase.

Very well made and seems like quality materials
Very well made and seems like quality materials. The bushes are very soft! This was exactly what I was looking for. If you're looking for a simple, affordable and quality shoe polishing brush set then you found it.I bought 2 so I have one set for black and one set for brown. I plan on keeping them in the box they came in and just labeling the box.
