The amount of it is so small that it doesn't effect the flavor. And work's when you make a gallon of green tea to lightly sweeten it.

Q: Could somebody clue me in as to why a 12 pack of green tea at Walmart is only $4 at the most yet Amazon has it for double some places triple?

You are correct! This price range is ridiculous. At Walmart, I can buy at least 4 of the 12ct cans in a box for this price.
