Useful, better if paired with good software ~
This text gives a overview of project management metrics, or key performance indicators. These are values that can be tracked and the author seems to have a good fundamental grasp of these concepts.I find that paired with good software (we have integrated software at my office that is good at handling these metrics), the book makes a useful tool. Even with something as stripped down as MS Excel (which can create wonderful reports if utilized to its full extent), this is a good reference. Realistically though this contains much information which can be researched easily online, but it is nice to have it all in one place.

Measuring the success of the project and customer retention and satisfaction
Author Harold Kerzner is a legend for anyone who has ever studied for PMI.I have read his books for PMP and every time there is a new edition, I get a new version of the book because it helps me re-read old materials and learn whatever is new. This latest book is about using metrics and other performance tools to measure success of the project, organization and any effort by the project team. It is a way of re-evaluating a role of the project manager within the organization. Project managers are no longer having a passive role, their role is more prominent and the methodologies are changing. It is no longer true that project manager's engagement is over once project is over. Project managers these days are consistently responsible for customer success and retention. This book is a great addition for anyone who needs to learn more about the ever expanding role of a project manager.

Confusing
I am surprised by all the high ratings. I find this book shockingly bad. It repeats the same things over and over. In general, it is a confusing book with no logical organization. I don't find very many things in the book actionable in real life. I only read this book because it is the required text for a project management class.

Falta consistencia
Falta consistencia, explica la diferencia entre kpi's y métricas, forma de presentar, partes a tomar en cuenta, pero no explica las fórmulas para obtener las métricas, se puede decir que es muy básico.

KPIs and Metrics guideline
As I am dealing more and more on a daily place at my working place with KPIs and Metrics and I have previous experience setting these kind of parameters for business rather based on experience, common sense and understanding of how these work, i was looking for a reference comprehensive book/guideline to take me more into the detail and mechanics of KPIs dashboards and metrics.I like the glossy style pages, how clear things are written (lots of examples, bullet points, a logic to follow etc) and so far it has supported me to get into the mechanics of these tasks. It is one of these types of books that alhtough you can read it at your free time, its purpose is to use it as a "consultation took" as and if needed, thus I will using in many cases in the future.Overall well spent money for a book that wasn't that cheap but I am quite pleased with my purchase

A decision intelligence project dashboard
In 2017, I completed a project called Intelligent Project Assistant in Life Cycle Management, a more than 2 million lines of code in C#. The missing capability related to the creation of a dashboard that integrated the measures taken, the metrics summarized and the key project indicators related to management and engineering. This book provided me the insight to finalize my product to a degree that reflected the original intent: the inclusion of a decision intelligent project dashboard.

An Excellent Miscellany of Measures and Milestones
This is an excellent overview of what can be done to bring visibility to the status of all kinds of measures, milestones and miscellaneous information to the eyes of project stakeholders. It does need to be said that these are really a collection of templates that can be adapted to suit almost any project, program or portfolio reporting need, so be prepared to put in some effort to make these happen.I only gave this four stars, as Kerzner has a tendency to preach about trends in project management he is too removed from to really understand or justify, so as long as you can get past his attempts to beguile you into following his beliefs, this is an excellent book to have in your back pocket.
