Hello, can be used in a tripod facing down to get a cross in the floor?

it can be mounted to a tripod ( it has a thread underneath ) . you can lock the laser with the red lever but when you tilt it toward the floor you will probably loose the level )

why green light is not working

You have to unlock the sliding switch on side then the green light comes on at top of unit check batteries this is how mine works and the laser light is red hope this helps
