How many sets are needed for 1 chair?

One chair equals 4 pieces (2 longer and 2 shorter). It's almost a year since I did this project, but if I remember correctly, 1 set did the whole chair. Just look into the description (a 4 pack does one chair, which I think is how they come).

what is the warranty?

Warranty on a cord, I don’t know, I think it would depend on the use and weight of a person sitting in chair. lol

What is the diameter of each cord?

Not exactly sure, but they are designed for the basic zero gravity chair holes. They worked very well to repair ours; however, you will think they are not long enough. It took two of us to pull, stretch, and believe that they actually were, and eventually got the chair repaired. I would recommend them, but be sure you have help to install. Also, only remove one side of the cords you want to replace at a time so that you can see how they go in, and also to have some tension to hold things together.

is there longer than 7ft 3in replacement cord

If you need a "longer" cord use one for the foot and one for the back area.
