Can this be used on fuel lines? Safely.... about 60psi

There are a couple of different sizes of this clamp. Having said that, I have used the 4 inch one to repair hydraulic lines which get upwards of 3500 psi. I have used it on fuel lines and air hoses, (175 psi). Yes it will hold the pressure, you just have to use a little sense about how deep into the hose the wire sinks as you tighten the clamp. I ALWAYS make at least two wraps around the hose, and use stainless steel wire. (the one place it does not work is on the intercooler for a turbocharger, somehow the size of the pipe and the expansion breaks the wire)

What kind of force can be generated with this tool? how does it stack up next to a band-it clamp™?

Not sure how it stacks up to a band-it clamp, but it is capable of pinching deep into most materials that I have used it on. I am a mechanic and us this clamp tool to repair ALL my air hoses. I have used it to repair hydraulic hoses on trac-hoes. Have used it to repair halter ropes for horses and have used it to hold hammer handles together. There are several sizes of this tool, I have two and have used the larger one to repair water lines out on the range. I keep one of these in each truck which I own.
