Works well, a little lighter than the older ones but still plenty sturdy.

Don't buy IT.... if you just want a low grade flashlight it fits the bill...
I have a number og d-cel mag-lites, spanning 30 years plus.... This current model was a great disappointment . I does not break down perion the tail cap is the only piece the disassembles. I would not buy this model/ version.... Yes I have a couple LED models but a few years old that work great the version of the LED model I cannot r recommend. Mag-lite had I good solid product.... This does not live up to their previous reputation...

Quality has changed... still good but not as robust as same model I got 10 or so years ago. This version is shorter, lighter, and although it is LED based, so better in that since... this thing will be in a hash environment and get dropped, kicked, banged around... the older model that is more robust has held up great, both of the them... this one... not so sure. Would have been 4 or 5 stars... but the drop in quality/weight of the materials is disappointing. Really said MagLite did this, given they were known for a very high quality product... guess not so much now?
