These socks are the best, they stay up, keep you warm, don’t cost an arm and a leg, and last a long time. I also really like how the navy blue color has a blue stripe above the toe so you can easily differentiate between blue and black colors. It seems to be hard to find them in Navy recently so I hope that they start stocking that color again. Wool socks are the way to go and these are a great value wool sock

I have been wearing these socks for a couple of months now. The wool dress socks are the exact weight for wearing when it is not summer, but you are not hiking in the winter. There is a "thread" in the top of the sock that will keep it up during the day, but will not cut off circulation. I just worry what would happen if that "thread" breaks. So far that has not happened. They wash well, do not shrink and do not wear quickly. Definitely worth the price! Buy these socks, not GoldToe's cotton dress socks (see my review of those).

I have hyperhidrosis on my hands and feet with my feet sweating the most. Since they are in shoes all day, this has led to some bad skin problems. I have been looking for ways to help control how wet my feet are, I use an iontophoresis machine and antiperspirant on my feet but even still, my feet sweat and my shoes end up stinking. I decided to try wool socks since wool is supposed to help keep you cool and help with odor. I just received these socks and have only worn them once but my feet felt much drier in them compared to all cotton, synthetic, or cotton blend socks. The main thing I noticed when I got home was that my feet weren't water logged looking. I did not wash them before wearing so hopefully they retain the moisture wicking after washing. They weren't that itchy except around the top, it wasn't unbearable but was noticeable. The socks are also rather long compared to other over the calf socks I have but they stay up well. They didn't slide down at all but possibly over time they will get stretched out and slide as they didn't seem to have much elastic in them. So far though, they seem like great socks.

These socks are the kind that you pull up to almost your knee. They call them over the calf. But it's closer to almost the knee. Either way they're very comfortable, they don't fall down throughout the day. They provide a little bit of compression as well. Nothing rated though.

I must admit that I was at first reluctant to make this purchase. My first encounter with Gold Toe was close to two decades ago, wearing their all nylon socks, which seemed to last forever. Reading some of these reviews on Amazon I thought that, first being a wool blend, and second because of declining manufacturing quality, I might be purchasing an inferior product.Now I am happy to say that after nearly three years of regular wear these socks have met or possibly exceeded all expectations. I purchased my first 3 pair set in October of 2013. After a month of wear I purchased a second set. I wore those for about two years and realizing that they may never wear out (thank you Gold Toe!) but that I can be quite lazy in regards to laundry, I purchased a third set.I am not kind to my socks. I sometimes wear them without shoes. When I wear them with shoes it is usually for dancing, where they see heavy use, and I often use them multiple times before washing. This is the great advantage of wool; I never worry about my socks smelling "rank."Somehow despite all the abuse I've put these socks through I can barely tell the difference between the socks I purchased 3 years ago and those I purchased last year. Gold Toe built these to last. I am a very satisfied customer and highly recommend these socks to anyone looking for a high quality, lightweight wool sock for everyday use.

I have used Gold Toe socks for years but eventually wore them out - OK, after 25+ years. I was so glad to find these original over the calf socks. I had some that claimed to be over the calf but were actually about 2 inches shorter. These new Gold Toe socks are perfect and just like I used to have.

If a person has any muscle on the calves or even on the other end if a person is somewhat overweight there's no wiggle room meaning the socks fit very tight and uncomfortable in addition the bottom of where the feet are near the heals and also the toes don't last very long and get holes very easy. These socks I noticed too aren't even made in the USA but outsourced for the sole purpose of cheap overseas labor and you see the results with poor quality. You get what you pay for.
