Bulb touches sides, burnt paint off metal ... smells awful

Bought this to heat a 6ft x 2ft x2ft snake vivarium. We had to replace this due to it not being strong enough ( our error- no fault of the product). This was very easy to install, and would work very well in a smaller vivarium

I bought this for my Cornsnake as a way to occasionally bring up the heat in the warm side of her viv but I'm honestly so disappointed. I knew the price was too good to be true.The cage is TINY and the bulb is BIG, the bulb is always touching the cage and making it extremely hot. I didn't have it on for long as the burning smell was too much to handle and the cage burnt me. The cage is supposed to be there to protect the reptile from burning themselves on the bulb but the cage is so tiny and TOUCHING the bulb that it gets just as hot in all directions. I even put an EXTRA cage over the top because I was scared my snake would burn. I already had a rescued King Snake who was burnt badly by a bad bulb and cage so I know what damage that can do and it's not pretty.Maybe it's good for a reptile that doesn't climb (if u can handle the burning smell) but it's definitely in reach of snakes and can be a big danger.I messaged the seller in hopes this was a defect, maybe I could get a replacement or refund but they just shrugged me off and told me to buy a smaller bulb that doesn't touch the cage. I shouldn't have to buy a smaller bulb, it should have been correct in the product I purchased.The product also came in a small unmarked white box with NO instructions or guidelines. I personally know how to use this equipment but novice reptile keepers might need a bit of help to at least tell them how long to keep it on for.Overall a giant waste of money, going to have to buy a new one-I should have just paid more for a trusted brand that actually works in the first place.

I've had 2 of these, first one stopped working within an hour of me turning it on, returned that and got a replacement, that was 3 weeks ago and I'm happy to say the new one is still going strong, I hatched some ducklings and needed something to give them the extra warm they needed and this one was a good price. Does the job well, kicks out a good amount of heat, kept my babies warm n snug so a thumbs up from me, gets very warm around the bulb and the cage its self gets very hot so be careful. Lost a star for the first one being a dud

Gets a litte to warm but over all good product

I like that it comes altogether, bulb already in place, all I had to do was hang it up in the tank. Our bearded dragon's appetite has improved a lot since changing from the other heat lamp we were using. We have it it in there since end of Feb 2021 it is now May 2021 and she seems a lot happier with this new heat set up. I would say you are getting value for your many

it works, technically, but the anti-heat cage is subpar at best, if you have a reptile that likes to climb, find a different option. the roof of the cage gets super hot and will burn your animal. had to order a different cage due to this which made the entire thing pointless. will work fine for anything that wont be able to get on top of it though
