Fit For Johnson Evinrude 175158 Primer Solenoid Service Maintenance Valve Kit 18-7044

Super works like a charm. Have had this boat motor for 25 plus years bought used on a 20 ft pontoon. Has always been a royal pain to start cold/ after setting for more than a few hours. Had it in to 4 service places over the years no one could figure it out, always said thats just how this motor is. My son looked at it did some research and figured it out. Took him a few minutes and omg this motor has never ran so nice. thank you

I recently bought this product for my 1997 Evinrude Ocean Pro, soon as I took it out of the package I could tell it was nowhere near OEM quality. However I needed to replace the old one due to it being cracked and slightly leaking. I did the replacement, and the little red valve part had SO MUCH play in it that gas was just pouring out worse than my old cracked one. I waited 2 days for this part, and I was very unhappy to get a POS after waiting. Obviously I am returning it, and then I'll do what I should ga e do e the first time and get a reputable brand replacement. This this is 💯 JUNK!!!!!!!!

Lined up perfect. The o-ring on the red piece was a little too small. Just used the piece off of my old one. I only needed the little square cover. Was definitely cheaper than buying the whole primer

When I put this on the red adjuster seemed a little loose and I thought it might leak. But it didn’t!

I'm not sure if I was the unlucky one to get a bad unit from the batch but, during initial assembly I was wondering why the flag was sitting so loose inside the cover. I figured eh, the o ring felt decent enough to withstand 3-5 psi of fuel pressure. So I went ahead and assembled the solenoid and installed it. Pumped the primer ball and right away fuel poured out of the flag. Disassembled it and figured I'd try a better o ring. Didn't leak unless you twisted the flag then it would seep. I installed my original flag and no more leak but now the solenoid doesn't work. I compared my original cover to the new one and seems like the new one makes the flag/cam sit further from the plunger. I reassembled the solenoid with my original cover, flag and the new diaphragm and now works fine and doesn't leak. I would return the kit but I mainly needed the diaphragm so I can't exactly send back a partial kit. Would be nice however if I was sent a cover and flag/cam without a molding flaw.

Cheap made. Felt light duty. Oring don't snap in. Definitely not oem like
