FORMUFIT F012STE-WH-10 Slip Tee PVC Fitting, Furniture Grade, 1/2" Size, White (Pack of 10)

Used these to make a divider in my chicken coop with a door, all out of PVC pipe so I could separate the old birds from 7 week old chicks when I moved them outside. They worked perfectly for the door hinges, and also the middle post; allowed me to quickly construct my divider, use it for 10 weeks, and then take it down and easily store along the ridge of my hen house roof until I need it again in a couple of years. I wish they were less expensive, but its not a bad value compared to alternatives and how much use I will get out of them.

Slip Tees are surprisingly useful because:(1) they swivel, such as for a hinge,(2) they slide, such as to support hanging objects.(3) they can be used to create cross-braces at any angle by using slip tees on both ends of a cross pipe to connect parallel pipes.My first design had no Slip Tees. Then I discovered their usefulness and I’m afraid I’m the reason why, at the time I’m writing this, Amazon has run out of ½ white Slip Tees. Sorry, folks. I hope Amazon restocks them soon. In the meantime, Amazon has some 1/2" Slip Tees in different colors.

Using this FORMUFIT PVC slip tee worked well on the FORMUFIT brand piping. It slides easy enough, but is still semi snug. I’m building a planter/greenhouse with it and these are being used for hanging lights, so I can adjust their location as needed. This PVC is great because it has no markings, it’s non-toxic and food safe. I checked the pricing on this vs my local hardware store and it’s about the same, but I can be lazy and get it at my doorstep instead of running to the store ha.Combining this with the other FORMUFIT PVC brand piping turned out really great. I will continue buying this brand in the future for more projects.

These worked very well as a hinge point for the framework holding bird block netting over my blueberry bushes. I mountedstandard caps from the hardware store to the fence boards and used short nipples between the caps and these fittings. In my case, I opted for connecting the fittings to lvcx pipe with self tapping screws so I can disassemble or modify the cage if necessary.The entire cage assembly, net and all, swings up away from the fence and above the berry bushes so I can harvest the berries thatthe birds can't get anymore.

I think these are a bit expensive for what you get, but they do work great on PVC projects. I have used them outside in the sun so far without any issue. These are furniture grade meaning they are a bit thicker/heavier than regular PVC adapters. They do not require glue.

Not trying to make permanent furniture though, making PVC tinker toys or K'NEX for a couple toddlers.

I'm using 1/2 inch pvc pipe and deer netting to build a cat enclosure. I only wish I could find this piece in a 4-way cross as well. As it is, I had a friend put a standard 4-way on a lathe to bore out one direction.
