Customer Service to the Rescue! The "Cadillac" of Vacuum/Mopping Robots!
UPDATE: Customer service got back to me and they've been great! I think this has been a learning curve for all of us. They do back their products which is great. I have tried a couple robots since I returned mine and man...while they were cheaper and the quality was noticeably worse. I checked out the Dreame X50 and no comparison. It's a lighter robot which affects mopping quality and their roller system does not work with dog hair.I have 3 golden retrievers and it was unable to empty the dust bin. It left clumps of dog hair around the house. And it never fully picked up an area. When I packed up the X50 to return it the dust bag was completely emptied despite using it for over a week! I had to manually empty the dust bin every time on the robot. However the Saros 10R with its unique roller system truly does work! Other robots continually get the rollers plugged. But not with the 10R.Another feature the Saros 10R is superior is the navigational system. It just runs smarter! It doesn't bump into things as it navigates to and from a selected room. I decided to give the Saros 10R another try for it is the Cadillac of vacuum/mopping robots. They have multiple obstacle avoidence settings and I'll leave it on the sensitive setting. I avoiding dog accidents will always be a challenge for any robot. But in sensitive mode is definitely helping!Original Post:Wow stay away from Roborock. At the end I'll include a copy of the email they sent in resolving this and let you be the judge. I had the Saros 10R for less than a week. I loved it and it worked great....until it didn't. We have a small older dog who sometimes makes mistakes. Not often but sometimes. But you'd think with the brand new navigational system that Roborock brags with the Saros 10R it could surely detect pet waste and avoid it? WRONG!It was vacuuming and mopping my kitchen when I got an error message that the rollers were jammed. I turned it over and the bottom was covered with pet waste. I had to take everything apart to clean it including the dust bin. It was terrible. And when I put it back on the dock it would not start. I tried resetting it and nothing.I call customer support but with this being so new they don't know much about It and have to escalate it to their support team. Not once will you receive a call from the support team, only an email. And you would think they'd realize their machine made a mistake and would eagerly try to remedy the issue. But not the case....apparently it's the pets fault for being old and having an accident and not their "sophisticated" navigational system that can't recognize pet waste! They reply that they will only replace this unit one time as a courtesy and won't do it again in the future. Needless to say I informed them they didn't need to give me the courtesy for I returned the unit. I'm going to try the Dreame X50 and hope it works better. Here’s a copy of their email they sent in resolving this issue:“Hi,Thank you for reaching out. We’d like to clarify that the Saros 10R is not advertised as having pet waste avoidance, and typically, damage caused by such incidents is not covered under warranty. However, we have escalated your case to our supervisor, and they have approved a one-time replacement of your damaged device with a brand new unit as a gesture of goodwill. Please note that if a similar situation occurs again, we will not be able to offer the same consideration. We will provide you with a shipping label to return the damaged device. Once we receive the returned unit, we will ship the replacement device to you as soon as possible. If you would like to proceed, kindly provide your full U.S. address, and we’ll get the process started.Best regards,Roborock Support”

By far the best combo vacuum-mop system I’ve yet seen.
We’ve had a series of Roomba products over the years and certainly the products - vacuums specifically - have gotten better over time. Sadly, their mop products have not, nor have their vacuum-mop combo products. Great price point, but mediocre performance. So we decided to try the very expensive RoboRock product and have been absolutely blown away by its performance. Mapping is an order of magnitude faster thanks to their highly effective sensor suite. Its ability to travel across carpets and modest thresholds (something that Roomba’s Braava series cannot) means that aside from picking up dog toys, vacuuming and mopping is a one button-push exercise. Emptying the bins, cleaning the mop heads and charging as needed requires no supervision. Other noteworthy differences: mopping is significantly better than Braava: 1) Its ability to clean mop heads means that it doesn’t just redistribute the dirt that it has already picked up; 2) Its ability to sense which direction the tile lines or wood floor seams run allows it to mop in the direction of the grain so to speak, so the floors look beautiful when done - tile and wood both. As far as vacuuming, it is about the same as the high-end Roomba self-emptying vacs. Its navigation around rooms is significantly better because its camera and Lidar-based sensors rarely seem to bump into furniture the way the Roomba products do (they use bump sensors). As mentioned in another review, setting the dock to clean the mop heads every 10 minutes. As well, I recommend vacuuming and mopping separately (you can set that up in the app), as it leaves the mop heads behind so as not to drag them across medium or high pile carpets. Battery life is quite good and while the app isn’t as intuitive as it could be, it is quite good once you figure it out.In summary: If you just want a good vacuum and maybe an occasional half-arsed mop, Roomba is a better way to go. If you want the whole (relatively expensive) combined system, I’ve not yet seen anything else that comes close. I haven’t had this long enough to speak to its reliability and will re-post if I learn anything different.
