OXOGood Grips Twisting Jar Opener with Basepad, Black, One Size

I've used OXO Goodgrips before. I already had a jar lid opener but I found it clumsy to use. I have weak wrists and even with the standard ones you need to twist to assist to get the lid off. Not with this one. It's innovative! Firstly, the little silicone mat it comes with to place the jar on is genious. It keeps the jar steady while using the main twister. The twister is brilliant. I've used it for all jar lid sizes so far it works on all of them. It does all the work. You twist it but the main force is applied for the gadget so it's comfortable to use. I've not seen one like this before and it's a game-changer for the best in our kitchen. It's good value for money. I would purchase it for a friend or family member.

I was fed up with cheap, difficult to clean can openers that would warp, lose their cutting edge, and get harder to use over time. If they didn't end up breaking, they'd still be useless.The OXO Good Grips range is more pricey than the budget alternatives but I find that they are worth it. I have an OXO Good Grips Garlic Press, and it's the best garlic press I've owned. So I took a punt on their tin opener, and I was happy to find that it's worth money.The build quality is very good. The design, especially it's ability to open beyond 180 degrees, means that they are easy to clean (I hate how difficult the cutting wheels on so many poorly designed can openers are to clean). The OXO is also much easier to use than the last few can openers I've had. I think that's the result of the sturdier, less wobbly build, and the chunkiness of the bit that you turn.Tin lids are left with a nice, clean cut, free of any jagged edges. Which is fantastic when you need to drain tuna, or a tin of kidney beans.

Bought this after cutting my thumb open on a tuna can lid, thanks to my crappy tin opener. Found this Oxo one in a holiday cottage we rented so had to buy one. This is perfect, easy to use and does the job perfectly, very pleased

I have always had a couple of tin openers in the cupboard and they are generally unreliable or fail to open a tin properly after a year or two's use. This always seems to happen when you are in the middle of cooking. The cause is that the gear mechanism wears and they either fail to cut cleanly, resulting in the need to go around several times to do the job, or they wont grip the can properly.Having got fed up with the unreliability of 3 high street purchased generic tin openers, I replaced all of them with one of the OXO brand ones back in 2021. I'm happy to say that the OXO tin opener is still working perfectly and opens tins with ease. One single pass around the rim and you are done. The construction is good and nothing seems worn yet.

I'm sure you have all been there. Try this tin opener, try that tin opener, rinse and repeat, and every single one fails to deliver quality or longevity.STOP. This is the one you want.It is solid in build, comfortable to use, MUMS NET voted it the best (one of the reasons I gave it a try), and I've had mine for about 8 months and it has opened each and every tin I have thrown at it first time with very little effort. No struggling to turn the thing to cut into the lid, it just glides through the tin.I would buy another one, but I have no idea when that will be required because this just keeps working exactly as you would expect.Thank you OXO

Excellent. Grip is excellent as is the opening function, cuts through can lids with ease. Well worth the money over cheaper alternatives.

This does what it's designed to do and does it well. For those struggling to grip it's easy to use and tins are easy to open. Slightly bigger than an average tin opener.
