Q: Black residue when I wipe the inner part of filter pitcher: is this carbon, mold or other??

Never seen such thing in my seven years of using the older model. I have been using this newer model for a few months and can say the same. Perhaps my secret of no black residue on my pitcher is that I wash it with dishwashing liquid and sponge between filter changes???
