Nifty little gadget
This micro sd card reader is very well made. It makes up for my new android phone's lack of a micro slot like my old phone had. Just pop the micro into the Kingston reader and it is easily recognized by my new phone. Want to add or delete files? The other end is a USB that goes into my computer. Can't ask for more. Yes I wish my new phone has a micro sd card slot but this Kingston reader is the next best alternative, small enough to not get in the way and works well.

more than 2 years later and still chuggin
I just had to come leave a review about how brutalist this adapter is.It gets HOT. Like concerningly HOT. But it's fine. It's just the demonic powers inside that make it transfer so fast in such a small package. I usually balance a solid one pound alluminum paper weight on it to dissipate some of that heat when I'm transferring for a long period. I am being dead serious.Speaking of which I've left this thing plugged in and running for two days straight while a program converted files onto it. I've filled up a fist full of 1tb cards for modding video game consoles with it.I may have burned myself with it, but I have never once had a failed transfer, and I've saved myself a lot of waiting hours because it's fast.Solid purchase. 10/10. Would bring with me to deserted island for survival.

Really heats up
This may be a feature of all tiny card readers, but this one gets very hot very quickly - burning hot, painful to touch. Especially when plugged in a phone. But it keeps working. Transfer speed doesn't seem to decrease.

I just don't buy USB sticks anymore…
So many devices take microSD that I just don't buy USB sticks anymore. But that means I need a reader that is suitably convenient. The ideal example is one that is as small as a USB stick, protects the microSD card since they can be a little fragile, and in 2022 has both a USB C and USB A connectivity. I've tried a few, this Kingston is the one I like the best. The speed of the device is going to depend a lot on your microSD card. I'm using UHS-1 A2 cards and they're about as responsive as I'd hope. Like I said, that's really got more to do with the media than the reader at this point. This is a UHS-1 reader, so it doesn't have the extra pins of the super fast new microSD cards, but those aren't real popular yet. And odds are if I need something that fast via USB, I'm reaching for a proper USB SSD anyway. For now, I can't beat the size and form factor at any reasonable price. I regret that I currently only have one of these. I'll need to get a few more.

NO MUSS, NO FUSS!
This drive has fewer compatibility issues & quirks than my three generic models. It just works, plain and simple. The cheaper models also work, but they exhibit annoying & time consuming issues. For instance, one drive only works properly with fat32 file systems. Another won't play nicely with adapters or my TCL phone. Some drives have to be plugged in and unplugged more than once to get them mounted. But this solid-feeling hunk of metal works flawlessly with all my micro SD cards (32GB-512GB) and all my devices.

Works well, but gets very hot
If you run some high-speed data transfers through this thing, be careful to not use your bare hands to unplug it from your computer. Either wear gloves that offer some thermal insulation, or wait a while for it to cool down.Aside from the very high temperatures that this thing can generate, it works great.

Sturdy, convenient design and good performance
This reader hits all the marks in terms of performance, a protected USB-C port that fits into most cases and a "leave-in" SD card slot that dissipates heat well.My only (minor) complaint is that the cap for the USB-C port is removable, but after some fussing I managed to rig the loop up in a way that holds on to the reader & cap while still allowing the cap to be removed. Still, it would be nicer if some sort of tether or retention were pre-applied and stronger than the fines string of the loop.
