Dexter by Schlage J54SEV619 Seville Keyed Entry Lever, Satin Nickel

These were a great simple update to our "NEW" home. we had the tacky gold handles all throughout the house and we wanted to upgrade to a sleek oil rubbed bronze. The switch was easy and we ordered enough for hte whole house. Not a single issue. Also it was easy to change from left to right handle with the simple included tool. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who plans to sell their home as well as this is a simple elegant update that definitely adds value. They are heavy duty also no cheap stuff here! make sure you have your phillips screwdriver ready as this is the only tool you really need for this project. I used this one for the door to the garage as the other similar project does not have a true "lock". Was very happy about the speed of shipping and quality of hte product!

Exactly matched the broken one. Easy to install, just read the instructions. Build quality seems pretty good. Hope it will last for years to come.

We got these along with regular deadbolts and a digital deadbolt for all of our exterior doors. These handles are not the strongest but they don't need to be as we have dead-bolts in all of our exterior door (with a modification of the frame for extra strength). Finish is great and fingerprints are minimal. We can't complain...these are well made and look great.

I find this to be a very simple, ergonomic, and attractive handle, and it was an easy replacement for an old Schlage entry knob. Levers are a more functional design for doors, because they are easy to actuate even when you have your hands full, with kids or packages. The handle is reversible so that you can arrange it for the handedness of your particular door. Perhaps because of this, there is a little more play in the handle than I'd like (but not more than for other knobs in this class). However, if this is for an exterior entry door and not just an office door, you'd probably have a deadbolt anyway for the primary security. In a higher-traffic or urban area, I'd probably go with the ANSI grade-2 Schlage Accent instead.By the way, note that the key blanks for a Schlage Dexter (like this one) are not quite identical to the standard Schlage key. The keyway is the same but the key (up to the stop) is about 1-1.5 mm longer. The hardware store where I had copies made did not notice this, so my keys didn't seem to fit. Comparing them with the originals, I saw that the grooves were correct, and so I used a swiss-file to file back the stop until the key went in far enough to work the lock. The keys work fine now.
