We've tried a few brands of these, yet i have found most of them aren't great. The coiled metal type don't last any time and are not as good on ice as they are on snow. Others fall off the shoe. So far these stay on perfectly and the studs or spikes grip superbly on ice. Definitely the best we have found.

Really useful for a winter walking holiday in Austria. Easy to put on and remove, handy carry bag.

Works well; ensures safety walk-in on snow, especially settled/compressed snow/ice if your not used to it. Slip hazard well avoided - just works. Took it on a trip/hikes in the Nordics.It proved a bit of a task to put it on and take off, while entering and leaving places where spikes are not welcome (could damage carpets/hard flooring). Although that's not so much a product issue, but if it was easy to wear and remove it would have made a difference.

Just arrived - no straps. Seller contacted. Apart from that error they seem ok but cannot test as no snow/ice. I had a nasty fall in recent bad weather. Therefore needed something like these. Cross fingers they will do the trick but that will likely not be for another year. Will update if I hear from seller.Update - seller contacted and 20% refund received so gone up from 2 stars to 3 stars now - they said said that there had been a mistake in the advert. So now I have the basic grippers with no straps. They feel ok without the straps but must cobble up some sort of strap thing in case they come off when in use. Although that won't be for some considerable time. If these are still on the site then I will update as to suitability in actual use.

I did a Ben Nevis with them in the snowy conditions and they did the job.

Due to the terrible weather purchased these, very simple to put on, just pull rubber over your boots or shoes. Went on a walk,roads were horrendous ice everywhere, however I never slipt once, very comfortable too. Purchased some more for my husband and sister as more bad weather predicted wouldn't be going out without them in icy weather.
