I walk with my dog every day. Sometimes it’s so icy I’m at risk of falling - not good with current NHS problems!These low cost grips make it safe to walk in snow & more importantly wet ice.Two things to consider:-If walking far, you need shoes or boots with a fairly rigid sole, as the pressure is put on a small area of the shoe so you may get blisters with a soft soleBe careful with the sizing - too large & they may come off in use - too small & they are difficult to fit.You can walk a short distance on clear tarmac or paving without too much trouble.I’ve had two pairs of these & the latest version has additional toe straps which make them much more secureFor what they cost, I wouldn’t be without them, because it’s almost impossible to slip when wearing them, & they’re good quality & durable.Definitely Recommended

Wore these in north Norway in March and they worked really well. Wore them on ice and snow. No problems with build up of snow. A bit fiddly to put on, but no more than others we saw. Better if you're able to sit down. Easy to take off.

Amazing bit of kit. A bit fiddly to start but once sorted out they work extremely well. Relatives are now getting some. Even better - they gave me my confidence back!

These are so simple but seem very effective on moderately slippy ground (due to ice). The sizes are true, and they stretch easily for shoes / boots. Do attach the straps as they do come off if left unattached!

Failing after being used 10 or 12 times.I purchased these “ice spikes” to walk safely on ice/snow covered pavements on my way to the local shops during mid December 2022 here in Liverpool, UK.The spikes performed perfectly giving good grip and me the confidence to walk to the shops without ending on the ground with a broken hip.Unfortunately, after being used approximately 10 or 12 times the metal heel plates are coming away from the black thermoplastic elastomer material overshoes.It may be that walking on the thawing pavement led to premature failure and had I just walked on ice/snow covered hills/fields the spikes might not have started parting company with the black thermoplastic elastomer material overshoes.So, only two stars but I will use them in future as once the overshoes/spikes are fitted to my shoes/boots my weight will keep the metal plates in place in the overshoes.
