great value, easy to install
Took 15 minutes to install. If I had to do it again I could do it in less than 10 minutes. Very simple, works effectively and absolutely prevents the tailgate from slamming down. Now it lowers down night and slow. No problem closing the tailgate. You might get a small scratch on the inside of your tailgate from parts rubbing up against it when closing the tailgate, but I was not concerned as my F-150 is aluminum and it wont rust. They do include a clear plastic sheet to cover areas which might rub. (you are going to get scratches in your paint eventually anyway, and this one you wont even see unless you open the tailgate and look for it). Overall, I was very satisfied.

Nice product, easy install. FYI when mounting the lower bracket ball goes closer to the bed .

This product fits well.
No hassle opening and closing. Also stops anyone else from opening tailgate and letting it slam down and possibly damaging it. All the tools supplied are quality and worked well. Added them to my toolbox.

Very Disappointed
Packaging was beautiful and that's were it ended. Instructions and pictures were elementary school level.parts were cheap and insufficient. Im very handy and mechanically inclined. but the design just doesn't physically work. they actually give you a piece of clear "tape" to put in place of the unit rubbing against the truck. Thats like suppling bandages to every knife you buy because it's going to eventually cut you. I have a 2018 F-150 which it says it fits. Waste of time and Money.

Great overall product. If you have the tools in front of you, 10 minute install.
The only issue I had with this product was that one of the metal “horseshoe” sleeves that goes top of the junction between the mounting bracket and the piston had its angles pointing inward too much. When I tried to click the pieces together on that side, the metal bracket would pop off the top or have a tight fit over the piston connection. I took pliers and opened the metal clip a little bit and it worked fine
