Creature

The Best Version of a Classic Creature Feature
Great buy for the price! This film is in the public domain, so the full-screen 94 minute version is available online, and on DVD all over the place. This DVD-R has the uncut 100 minute version in wide-screen. Most of the other DVD versions out there are VHS-quality at best, but this release has reasonably clear, DVD-quality picture and sound. The DVD-R itself is bare-bones; no subtitles, special features, or language options. The film itself is one of the many dozens of Alien ripoffs that popped up in the 80's and 90's. Most of them were pretty lousy, but "Creature" was one of the better ones. If you look closely, you'll notice that some of the sets were actually reused from the masterpiece sci-fi film "Forbidden Planet"! Klaus Kinski's performance is fantastic, even though the rest of the acting is mediocre at best. Ironically, the special effects team who worked on this film went on to work on Aliens. If you enjoy B-grade sci-fi or creature features, give it a shot. You'll probably get a kick out of it.

I love this Alien rip off
A childhood movie of mine, if you like Alien you'll really like this! Now, this DVD is a bootleg so be warned about that before you buy but it is a very good-looking bootleg, it is in anamorphic widescreen at least. No features whatsoever. It's also the Titan Find version, not the theatrical cut.

Another Alien rip off.
An Italian production, I think. The cast seems to be an international mix. The story is a mess. The whole thing plays out for horror without much time for any real characterization or much talent shown by the cast. Klaus Kinski is a mad scientist. No stretch there. Maybe a familiar face or two from American TV, and a blond that shows a little skin. The monster is an obvious Alien relative without a lot of screen time. Ultimately just as well.I like it for what it is with no illusions beyond what you see in it.

Wow! Uncut and widescreen!
This is the super rare director's cut! I bought this unsure if it was legit, but it's the widescreen, uncut version and considering the rarity of this version, the quality is spectacular - the best Creature with Klaus Kinski has ever looked since its theatrical release. Beware of the bootleg public domain discs floating around with the truncated Trans World vhs rips. This is the real deal, and its much cheaper than the rare, OOP dvd that MGM pulled from commercial release years ago (note: the special features from that version are not included).

Quality DVD
First off, this is the best copy out on the market (Studio: Reel Vault). The Diamond DVD release suffers from a poor jumpy VHS transfer. This release by Reel Vault is presented Widescreen and with a much better quality. I believe this is also the director's uncut version which is also a plus.If you like sci-fi (basically Alien) and cheesy B movies, this one wont disappoint.

Love this movie
One of the all time great B movies. A plot ripped off from alien and Klaus Kinsky. What more could you want. I just wish it would get remastered and put on to Blu-Ray so I could get a copy that wasn't ripped from some old grainy VHS tape. This is probably the best copy of this movie I've ever found.

which wasn't much better in video quality than a VHS tape
Up until now, I've only had the full-screen "pan-and-scan" version of this DVD, which wasn't much better in video quality than a VHS tape, and I was hoping to get it on blu-ray in wide screen. It was finally release on blu-ray, but sold out before I got a copy. Now at least I've got a wide-screen DVD that's of decent quality. I first saw the movie after buying it from a local Blockbuster out of their clearance bin, knowing nothing about it. I expected it to be direct-to-video cheese. However, it was better than I expected, and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm a fan of this genre, and since then I've had a soft spot for this movie.
