Anne de Carlo (Kim Delaney, NYPD Blue), a military research scientist, is working on a formula that will make human skin impervious to bullets. While experimenting with the formula, de Carlo injects it into a man who has been in cryogenic suspended animation for twenty years. What de Carlo doesn't know is that before he was frozen, the man was contaminated with the blood of a werewolf, and now she's created a bloodthirsty beast that can't be stopped with a silver bullet!Featuring an all-star cast that includes Barry Bostwick (Megaforce), Musetta Vander (O Brother, Where Art Thou?), Carole Davis (If Looks Couls Kill) and horror legend Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, Jason X) as 'Metalbeast' in this unforgettable sci-fi / horror cult classic that 'sets out to entertain and it does that in spades' (Wicked Horror).

It's Superbilicious!
Sure the HD is VHS quality. It is of the best quality in the way that you no longer have to tap the "tracking" button on a VCR. There is a worse quality version on the web IF and only IF you are lucky to find the (bright & fuzzy, someone tried their best) version. This quality is worth the price. Rented first if you're not sure and then buy it. This prime version is dark & crisp. A lot of the scenes were shot in low light.

It's the kind of thing that my dad and I looked forward to on Sci-Fi channel's Friday nights.
If you like corny, try hard B movies, then look no further my friends, 'cause this crap-tastic film will have you entertained and chuckling for all 90 mins.A complete botching of both military strategy, medical protocol, and 90's tropes yields a bunch of scientists trying to fight off a crazed, nigh-indestructible ascended super "furball". Complete with a wanna-be Jaws ending, music motifs and hits lifted from 1994's The Shadow, and actors who go on to do something with their career, Project: Metalbeast is every werewolf movie aficionado's wet dream: a new take on the lycanthrope WITHOUT becoming a generic, douche-y action movie like so many others.Bare witness to the dazzling veneer of the 90s!

The Werewolf finally gets some respect.
The werewolf is always portrayed as the vampire's poor bastard cousin. Recent films such as the "Underworld" series underscore this unfair attitude. I always thought werewolves were much cooler. The 1994 film "Project: Metalbeast" is one that many of us first saw on the Sci Fi (now Syfy) network. One of the very best low-budget films ever to be shown on the network (they've made and shown some real dogs in their day), this has winning acting from Kim Delaney and Barry Bostwick, a terrific premise, and one hell of an indestructible monster. If you like werewolf films, you've got to see this one.And if only the Prism VHS is available, it's not copy protected, so you can burn a DVD from it. I did with my Go Video combo recorder, and it came out beautifully. The other reviews tell you the plot, so I need not rehash that. Suffice to say that it is a great thrill ride, and if you love horror films in general, and werewolf films specifically, you'll love this one.

A Suprisingly good Werewolf movie
The first time I saw this movie was on tv, SciFi channel. I didn't have much hope that it would be any good but was very surprised! The acting is fine, for a low budget horror movie, and the special effects are not all that bad. The story is very interesting and original as well. A team of scientist are trying to prefect a new synthetic skin but they have been having problems. After a short period of time the skin hardens and it becomes like steel. well this military coronal, the project leader tells them to work on a cadaver that he supplies. They do, he comes back to life and turns out to be a werewolf, now with really hard hide.If you like horror movies especially werewolves and don't mind it being low budge, than this is a gem!

What out for Metal Teeth
It has been a long time since I saw this movie, and when I saw it I had to purchase it. It is classic wolffy horror, and well done for it times. It is funny and inventive. It is worth the price.
