Sealing up the perfect sizes!
6" is definitely a little smaller than I imagined and kind of hard to fold back so I can put food in the bag and not get the seal area dirty. But I got used to it the more I used it and we fit perfect individual steaks in it and seal them or 1 pound of hamburger (could probably get 1 1/2 pounds in the bag), also nice portions of strawberries, peaches or nut go great in this size. We are loving our new vacmaster VP215 and accidentally ordered the VP210 that doesn't take oil first, so we sent it back and got this one and are sealing up steaks, hamburger, strawberries, home made trail mix, home made beef jerky right and left. Very nice and we like these bags because they are thicker for longer preservation and to be boiled, although you can boil the 3 mil bags too, but I haven't tried boiling either one of them yet. We have some 3 mil bags with the machine and ordered more 3 mil and 4 mil for different purposes. It's quite a pricey investment at first, but the bags should last a while and get us through hunting season this year and all the sales on our favorite steak or other meat. Now that the boys are grown, it's really nice to seal up smaller portions. This would have been really nice when we had a bigger family too, but never could afford it, it seemed.

Highly recommended for any chamber vacuum
These bags are for chamber vacuums. A chamber vacuum is a 50 lb. metal box with plastic lid. It has a "chamber" where you place the bag, close the lid, and press a few buttons to start the vacuum and seal the bag. If you don't have this type of vacuum sealer, then these bags are not for you. They do not work on FoodSaver sealers and all those other FoodSaver knock-offs.That said, these bags are excellent in my Polyscience chamber vacuum. I'm used to 3 mil. thick bags. These are 4 mil. thick and I bought these in the hopes that it will better protect the food in the freezer. With 3 mil. bags I needed a seal time of 2.5 seconds. These thicker bags require 3.5 seconds. (FYI).These 1,000 bags come in 4 packs of 250, each in its own plastic bag. I ordered it on a Monday and it shipped in less than 24 hours. I received it on Thursday.Highly recommended for any chamber vacuum.

6x8 Inch VacMaster Pouches, Perfect for One
I live alone, and like to portion out my food. These pouches are perfect for portioning out my meats, and some sides. I like to cook my meat Sous vide, taking it to pasteurization, so I can bulk cook, then pull out single portions for meals. These pouches are ideal for that.

Heavy-duty 4-Mil pouches that last a very long time.
My first order of these pouches was in May of 2018 and at that time, they were 3-Mil, and the price for 1000 bags was $26.99. The first set of 1000 bags lasted me for 3 year until January of 2021 when they were 4-Mil, and the price increased to $39.10 for 1000. These bags (pouches) lasted me until October of 2022 and now cost 50.02 for 1000. That's a 78% increase in cost in about 1 1/2 years!! I know prices for everything are constantly going up, but, to me, a 78% increase in 1 and 1/2 years is ridiculous. In spite of the increased cost, these are the bags that I use the most. I grow all of our veggie greens in our basement, and these bags will hold 10-12 ounces of veggies which is perfect for a meal for two. We buy bulk packages of boneless pork chops that I repackage for freezing, and these bags will hold two of them. Since these bags are 4-Mil and much thicker than the 3-Mil I got initially, they also hold up well to freeze pork chops or steaks with bones. My husband also buys bulk packages of rotisserie chicken breasts that I repackage for freezing. These bags will easily hold one large chicken breast. As mentioned previously, I use this size freezer bag more than any other size and would recommend them. The last me for about 1 1/2 years, but I just wish they didn't continually go up in price. For me, they are still worth the price considering how long they last but I may start looking for a less expensive option.UPDATE 09/25/24:I am back to order 1000 more of these bags. The last time I order them was 2 years ago and the price is the same as it was then. This size is my most used bag size for my vacuum sealer. I use them primarily for vacuuming and sealing 10 ounces of veggie greens that I grow in my indoor basement garden. For 2 of us, 10 ounces of most veggie green is perfect. These bags seal well in my vacuum sealer and hold the seal. I have sealed our veggie green in these bags for over 6 years, and some of our frozen greens are as old as 3-4 years. When I reheat them in the microwave, they are as good as fresh. As long as you remove most of the water and remove all of the air, it's surprising how long veggies can remain good as fresh in the freezer.I hope this review was helpful for you.
