I just received these yesterday. I received these an excellent condition and the box not damaged at all. Perhaps because they shipped it USPS. I was pleasantly surprised that they were already assembled except for the stand. The instructions for the stand only have a diagram but it is very simple to assemble, pretty much self-explanatory. Only took about 10 minutes and I was taking my time putting it together to make sure everything was aligned properly. The heck screws could have been made with a little extra hardening ( this is a process they use when they make metal items) The stand is very sturdy as long as you assemble it correctly. The color is beautiful, there were no scratches or distortion on the finish. For those who say the tables are a bit wobbly, well they kind of have to be. They have to some leeway to be able to unfold and fold them with ease. I've never seen a TV tray that wasn't a bit wobbly when you fold and unfold it. As far as the finish, too early to tell how how well it'll stand up over time. But I don't put anything hot or glasses down without a coaster on my trays. I will write a follow up months later to advise on how the finish holds up. Overall I am extremely satisfied. I think I made an excellent choice.

I bought this set to augment 2 identical tables that I've had for about 18 months now. Obviously, I'm very happy with them, or I wouldn't have bought more, but some of the folks who posted negative reviews seem to expect quite a bit for their $12 tray tables. Of course they're not very sturdy... they're tray tables. You want sturdy, go to Pottery Barn and pay $200 for a set of nesting tables. Yes, you will probably knock it over if you hip check it when moving past it, but again, it's a tray table, not a permanent piece of furniture (see $200 nesting table). And they're made of solid wood -- real wood -- not particle board. Yes, they have a few knots on the underside, but they're still nice pieces. Yes, the finish is not as smooth as glass... nor would I expect it to be. 1) It's a $12 table, and 2) a little tooth on the surface prevents things from sliding. You want a satin finish, see $200 nesting table. Do they fold up unexpectedly? Not from my perspective -- I've never had one fold up just sitting there, but every tray table I've ever owned will collapse if your push it the wrong way. Pick it up and move it. And the final complaint -- that the $12 stand doesn't hold the tables securely? Well, it does lean a bit with an unbalanced load on it, but it's not going to fall down. Again, not unreasonable performance for any tray tables I've ever used. Bottom line -- you want a good set of inexpensive tray tables? Buy these. Want expensive furniture? Shop elsewhere.
