Hopkins Towing Solutions 56009 Diode Dinghy Plug-In Simple Wiring Kit

Was going to pay 300 dollars to get a similar system installed on my 2015 Ford F-150. Decided to give this a try instead. It was a very easy install. The plugs fit tightly and securely. Running the cable over the gas tank and left front fender well protects the wires from debris, heat, and moving parts. Towed the truck on two 4 hour trips. Works flawlessly. I saved a lot of money and did this in about 30 minutes. I highly recommend this product.

Installed pretty easily, but is not complete if you install a brake system along with it. Would have been easier had I known the brake light relay kit needed to tie into the same tail light wire from the towing rig.

Wow! After some unsure reviews, I wasn’t sure on buying or if it worked. I even read on etrailer they discontinued awhile but noticed they had them again for sale with good reviews. I have a 18 with led tail lights on f150. I emailed Hopkins about the reviews of it not working while waiting on mine to come in. They told me they redesigned them, and are working now, told me to make sure I get the one that looks like the pictured one on the Hopkins site. I’m guessing they meant the grey plug? Ive seen some pics of black main plug on amazon. Long story short, it came in and main plug was grey from amazon like Hopkins site. It said 2015 on year model on package that worried me for a moment it was a old version. But I notice on package back side it said “rev b5-18”. Could be the good ones were revised in may 2018?? Unplugged the one grey plug under driver side of truck, near back bumper , this just T’s right into the trucks male and female of same factory grey plug. Test Plugged into rv (white ground has to be on truck to test even). Works perfect with a 2018 with led taillight , I have max tow package as well with a 7 blade etc. After days of watching youtube videos of splicing into factory wires & dealers wanting to put holes in tail lights with extra bulbs; I’m so glad this worked out and I didn’t have to do any of that. Unplugged from rv, tailights in still truck work perfect. Now I know why they are out of stock on etrailer etc. they work great. Don’t cut into factory wires!

Doesn't work. 2015 F-150 with LED tail lights and factory towing package. When the y-connector is plugged in, the brake lights on the truck do not work while driving the truck. The brake lights on the truck work fine when being towed, but then when I drive the truck I have no brake lights!Hopkins tech support will want pictures of your truck’s harness, that has to be sent to an ‘engineer.’ Then they ask if it’s plugged in. The game is to put you off until you give up. Forget getting a replacement.

Excellent designed product. Installation was relatively easy. Used the product on a 2017 Ford F-150 and found the installation guide was easy to follow and the results were as I expected.

Did not fit. 2016 F150 XLT 4x4 with tow.The connector supplied was narrower by about 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch, see photo.Seems well made and would have been awesome, instructions well written.

WHEN I FINALLY GOT MY HOPKINS DINGHY IT WORKED GOOD AND WAS EASY TO INSTALL. HOPKINS MAKE GOOD PRODUCTS.
