These were a great replacement for my toolbox. Upgraded to a heavier weight shock because i have tools on the lid. Now it holds open no problem. Ball fittings come pre-greased. According to their directions they are upside down, that’s probably why the last ones failed.

These gas struts are like wipers. Once you install new ones you will have wish you'd done it months or years ago because we don't realize how slowly the original items degrade with use. These are cheaper than dealership costs and are just as effective and last just as long. I use these on a glass canopy door for the canopy on the truck. Can now open with one hand and close with one hand. Like I said I'm so happy I just wish I had bought these sooner when I installed the used canopy on my truck would have been a lot nicer for the last several years. If you have any questions open your old struts and measure from mounting pin to mounting pin and then order the new ones with same measurement in the open position and this will just about guarantee that they will correctly fit

Realistically, my application needed 16.85 inch size, but I ordered 17 not realizing any issues. At worse case scenario, I was thinking thehood could open wider to accomodate. Even at the max lift, I couldnt attach the bottom post of the strut. Were talking less than 1 cm off(and no, you cant compress by hand). I contacted Arana and we went through options, eventually landing on a full refund without a return.This idea was originated by them, even though I was the one that ordered wrong. They even gave me competitors links for a better fit product.In this day and age, what company shows that much customer service for an eventual non-customer?The product itself is sound, and well built. Came with an extra joint end as well. Ill probably make a box or something just to make use ofthe parts. Even the price was awesome, compared to an online car parts dealership who quoted 2.5x the price, and thats just for ONE strut.Arana was a great company to work with and Vigor responded very quickly to all my messages. Because of their wonderful customer service, Iwill definitely look to them first for any associated products in the future.

As soon as they showed up there were installed on my truck cap. They threw the lid up like nothing, best set I ever purchased. Now will see how long they last. I normally go through a set a year.Thank you Lawrence
