Power Steering Rack & Pinion For BMW Z3 Non-M 1996 1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 - BuyAutoParts 80-00224AN New

I was skeptical about buying a Z3 rack from someone on Amazon instead of a well-known rebuilder/retailer, but I’m very pleasantly surprised. In my ‘99 E36 M3, this rack has made an awesome difference. It’s WAY quicker than the stock rack, which was leaking from every fitting. Another way I can tell these are genuine Z3 racks is that by the fact that they don’t have a passenger-side P/S cooler bracket. No problem, I just made a delrin piece to take up the space, and all the other mounts and fitting locations are identical to the stock part.The rack I received was devoid of any identifying tags or numbers, but I assume they must have been removed during the refurbishment process. My steering rack arrived quickly and intact, and was nice and clean with plastic plugs threaded in the inlets and outlets. I hope it’s stands the test of time, and I’ll be back to update this review if it doesn’t. If you don’t see an edit to this review, you can assume that my rack is still functioning perfectly.

This rack anywhere else would be maybe double the price for my application 2.75 lock to lock couldn’t be happier

When installed, there was a 4 inch play in the steering wheel. Called seller looking for an exchange. They said just to use the AMAZON return - which I did.

Installed perfectly on my 98’ M3 Vert. Steering feels incredibly light, and caused my car to handle significantly better than the OEM rack. Would buy again 100% and recommended to some BMW buddies. Solid buy, direct bolt on, came shipped in a great package and got here crazy fast.
