Best LED Bulb For Dimming
If you just need a basic on/off LED bulb, DO NOT buy these. You can get the bulbs you need for less than half the cost. But, if you need a reliable dimming LED bulb, these are the only ones I've found that work just like an incandescent bulb.I have ceiling fan with a remote dimmer for the lights. It was not designed to work with LED bulbs and I had a hard time finding LED bulbs that would work. They either didn't work at all, or they flickered or buzzed or I had to hold the ON button for several seconds to turn them on. These Phillips lights have been working perfectly in my ceiling fan for over a year.We just bought several 3-way touch control lamps that say (in tiny print) "Use Incandescent Bulbs Only". I tried a variety of the old LED bulbs I still had and none worked. I bought two different types of new dimming LED bulbs. One wouldn't even turn on and the other type only worked intermittently. I pulled one or the Phillips LED bulbs out of the ceiling fan and it worked perfectly. I bought a new pack of Phillips LED bulbs and they also work perfectly. I'm happy about that, but they are more than twice as expensive as any of the other bulbs I tried. At least they last a long time.

Nice warm light; safe for conventional dimmers
I've been looking for a dimmable LED bulb that would be safe and flicker-free, and finally have found it.The light these bulbs give is warm, and gets warmer as they dim. This mimics the reddening that incandescent bulbs display, but is not so dramatic that it is a distraction. Even at low lighting levels I can detect no flicker or buzzing noise, which can be an issue with some dimmable LEDs. I've put these into triple-bulb ceiling fans controlled by 40-year-old rheostat dimmers and they work perfectly. So what's this about safety? Some LED bulbs require a specialized dimmer that uses pulse-width modulation (very fast on-off cycling, and dimming achieved by messing with the ratio of on-time to off-time) to achieve dimming. One bulb on a circuit? Fine. Lamp with three bulbs through that specialized dimmer? Flames shooting out of the dimmer in the wall. This from experience. HOWEVER, these bulbs do not need a PWM dimmer, and are safe with multiple bulbs per circuit.I've ordered more of these. Highly recommended, safe, good-looking light!

Great for dimmers - no buzzing
These lights worked the best with my dimmers, I tried a GE Dimmable lightbulb before and the general performance was poor. The dimming was not very smooth, there was a faint buzzing, and the bulbs lacked the full range of dimming effect. The lights would just essentially shut off when I wanted to have a soft evening dim at night. I literally almost bought a new dimmer switch because of how poor the dimming performance was. Then, just as a test I tried these and “voila” the lights worked great and I can now get a very low to high dim with no problem.

Nice Bulbs, Weird Amazon "Policy"
In my quest to replace all the bulbs in the house with LED's, I needed a bunch of "traditional" A19 ones. So, I decided to go with these Philips one, partially because of the brand name, and partially because it was quite a good price per bulb. I wanted to buy 5 packs of these, but for some odd reason Amazon limited me to only 3 (I live in Southern California). Luckily I found a Home Depot about 20 minutes away that still carried these (apparently they were phasing them out for some reason). I deducted one star because out of the 12 I received from Amazon, one was flickering (what's with the bad QA Philips?), and if it wasn't for the local Home Depot, I would have had to return an entire 4-pack just to get the one bad bulb replaced.

Cozy, Warm Dimming that works
Great for use on living rooms, sleeping rooms.Just like the old incandescent light bulbs, the light color from this LED bulbs changes from a warm white to a more-red/orange like color as you dim it (with a regular dimmer, or a smart dimmer like Lutron's Caseta). My particular bulbs + dimmer combination allows a range of about 5% to 100% light output. My bedroom can be dimmed down to about the same light level of one or two candle lights, with about the same light color, which is nice and cozy. The "color rendering" looks good to my eyes: Stuff around the room look natural, on their true colors.(Be aware that some cheap LED light bulbs have bad color rendering).

Fixes Dimmer Flicker, Warm Glow is Nice at Bedside
I have tried several "dimmable" LED bulbs, and they work but have a noticeable flicker at the lowest setting. There is also a lot of flickering at night when the voltage on the power varies a little. However these Phillips LED Dimmable bulbs are flicker-free. They are the only LED bulb I have that does not flicker at least a little. Highly recommended! The warm-glow effect is a nice touch if you are using these LED bulbs in bedside lamps. The lowest setting is a little more orange-red than the white at full brightness and actually quite relaxing.

Color & brightness GREAT. Dimming, Great. Soft on: NO.
I've very impressed with these bulbs. For 800 lumens, they sure appear brighter than that. And the warm white color is just beautiful. When they dim, they go more toward yellow, but will not dim all the way toward red as an incandescent. And they are not quite soft on. But overall, a great bulb. Let's see how they last.

Low current draw and little heat
These have little energy consumption so, besides just replacement bulbs, they are handy for places where you want to leave a light on all night.
