VMV Hypoallergenics Essence Skin-Saving Clark Wash, 8.45 Fluid Ounce

I like this shampoo. I have allergies to fragrances and other chemicals, and this one doesn't bother my scalp. It is gentle enough to not strip my hair color. It suds well, but I feel like I have to use 2 pumps to really work up a lather. Only thing is it doesn't get my hair super clean sometimes. It doesn't take any oil out of hair, so once a week I have to use a more clarifying shampoo to remove product buildup and oil. If you have really oily hair, you probably won't like it. But if you have normal to dry hair, it's great. It has no noticeable scent.**Update: I no longer have to use a clarifying shampoo weekly. I think after about a month of using it, my scalp normalized to it and doesn't make as much oil because it's no longer being stripped by my previous shampoos.

This is the only shampoo I can use that does not irritate my scalp. It is hypoallergenic and free of all the things that irritate my skin. The negative for this shampoo is the cost. I feel that it is overpriced for the amount you get. Thankfully, I only wash my hair twice a week! I would love to use on the whole family, but I cannot afford it.A word of caution: the conditioner that matches this shampoo contains Dimethicone, which irritates my skin making it red and very itchy. So if you're allergic or use the conditioner and have any of these side effects , it could be the Dimethicone. Again, the shampoo is awesome and super gentle. Life saver for allergic/sensitive skin!

Good product but I have allergies, not for me

Great body wash for those with allergies.

This shampoo has a strange consistency - "curdled" is the word I would use to describe it.Has little white specs of something in it. Sadly, I'm going to have to return the shampoo as I think there is something wrong with it. Samples I received from VMV had a completely different consistency.

I am sensitive to almost all commercial and dermatological hair shampoos and products. I had been using DHS Clear Shampoo for years until they changed the formula and added SLS as the main cleansing ingredient. I could not use it any more. VMV Clark Wash is the only shampoo I have found that I can tolerate. It lathers and cleans nicely unlike some of the other SLS and SLES Free shampoos. If you are chemically sensitive as I am, I recommend you give it a try. Leaves hair manageable.

I bought this product because it appeared on a product safe list from my dermatologist after I found I didn't like the Essence Skin-Saving Body Milk shampoo I ordered from the same company (see separate review). While this shampoo is safe for color-treated hair, I find it does not lather as nicely as the Body Milk shampoo and my hair doesn't feel clean when I'm done. I have to use 3 times the amount of product to get it to lather and then I'm still not happy with how my hair feels after using it. I don't have many choices of shampoos on my list and I was hoping this was the answer to my prayers. I guess the answer is 'no.'
