A simple spring compressor tool for a reasonable price.
This spring compressor tool beats my old one by a country mile. The locking pins make it really quick to install, unlike the type that uses little u-bolts you have to screw in place. Those are a huge nuisance. Such a nuisance, I can't even find them for sale anymore. I guess the only downside to this design is that if you ever do end up bending the screw shaft, you can't really use it anymore since there's no nut you can spin down. My old one DID bend, and that was the only way I could use it afterward. This one appears pretty strong, but there are also some pretty hefty springs out there so be careful!

Compressor
These are spring compressors. You get a pair. Used for large heavy spring. Good deal. Would still keep compression at a minimum but hope these hold up. All metal look sturdy.

Just What I Needed
Had been using a bit of redneck ingenuity to install rear springs on my dual sport - four ratchet straps - but this certainly works much better and with much less chance of getting a spring in the eye. Pretty easy to use, decent instructions, comes with a really nice little case that stacks flat and is inobtrusive. Tighten it up with a ratchet or driver and the spring gets pinched. Easy peasy. Cost me only slightly more than the ratchet straps, does a much better job. Much approve.

Nice set of spring compressors
No more trips to the parts store to rent these - just used them on my Ranger and they did the job quite well.
