Size Name:XL DYNEEMA Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWP) is the secret that fuels this garment's power. Dyneema is the world's toughest fiber material. How can something so lightweight be 15 times stronger than steel? That's for us to know, and you to enjoy. Fiber is vastly used across the industrial landscape; from moving buildings to the stabilization of oil rigs, and even stopping bullets. Today, this industrial power is fused into the very fibers of our every garment. Safety can never be pushed too far; which is why we've engineered a clothing line that brings safety and style together as one. One layer of Dyneema fabric houses 55% UHMWP; capable of withstanding 6.5-second abrasion resistance/70-meter slide distance. Dyneema is renowned for its superior thermal conductivity; with body heat distribution that no "normal" cotton denim substitute can compete with. Did you know that half the amount of Dyneema is twice as strong as denim with HT nylon on burst/tensile strength? Just half the amount of Dyneema boosts abrasion resistance of a single-layer motorcycle denim with aramid by 70%. We're talking a like-for-like improvement of 300%. The Dyneema production process begins with a patented gel-spinning process, whereby fibers are drawn, brought to high-heat, elongated, and cooled. Molecular alignment is obtained through a cycle of stretching and spinning, maximizing crystallization and minimizing density. With Dyneema's unbeatable long molecular chains, the load can be transferred to the polymer backbone with the utmost precision. Ultimately, it's stronger yet lighter than anything else of its kind: 15 times stronger than steel and 40% stronger than aramids (both on a weight for weight basis). It's so lightweight, in fact, that it has the ability to float on water yet not absorb moisture. UV and chemical-resistance seal the deal.
