Fun game and unique way to either test your knowledge of family and close friends or open up discussion with people you don’t know as well. We had fun playing with our teen and adult kids. The after dark expansion was dumb. Majority of the cards were too raunchy/gross…felt like a perverted old man with a teenage mind wrote them. We would probably only use about 10-15 cards out of it, so not worth it. At the time I bought them it was the same price as the regular game by itself, so at least I didn’t pay extra.

I don't write reviews often, but I've played this game with kids, family, friends and strangers and was compelled to because this game is SO great! Its rules are simple, straightforward and can be picked up by anyone. We've brought it to a restaurant to pass the time before the food arrives. I've played it with my teenager and her friends. I played with my partner and other adults. In all instances we've all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and laughed like crazy- especially when trying to explain some of the cards to younger kids! Don't worry the After Dark expansion set is packaged separately and the basic game is definitely family friendly. I love that none of our friends and family owned this game before we introduced them. Makes a great gift!! Don't hesitate to purchase if you're looking for a fun game with simple rules.

Love this game!! It is so easy to play and such a great and funny way to get to know someone or a group. The white cards are everyday things that people will have opinions on- and safe for all ages. The black cards mix things up! Use them sparingly or not depending on the crowd.The directions are super simple (no one wants to read a novel full of instructions) and it is fun to play cooperatively against “the game”.It comes with a TON of cards on all kinds of topics and you can mix them up for endless combinations.What I love best is that it sparks conversation and laughter. You will for sure laugh and probably learn something new about the players even if it’s someone you know well. Great for a date, family night, or with coworkers.Had a blast playing and definitely will be my go to when having friends over or on my next getaway (and it’s compact so easy to transport)!Get it!

This game was fun for maybe one round it was very boring. I didn’t think it was worth the money

Bought for a bachelorette party. Everyone had a fun time getting to know each other a little better, and found the 'after dark' ones funny and on theme for the party. However unless I had another party like that I don't know when I'll ever use it again.

This has become my go to game for family. You can play with 4 or more. But if you got too many playing, it would take a long time. You play in teams. Everyone gets a turn to be "it", and they are dealt 5 cards with "things" on them. Like: ice cream, flip-flops, paddle boarding, sleep, family. "It" then ranks them from 1-5 without anyone seeing what they put. The other team then tries to guess how they ranked them. The ranking may differ depending on what cards you get in any given round. We played it so much, that I bought blank playing cards from Amazon and we added our own family favorites. (Chocolate covered cinnamon bears, lake days, apple pie, our local theme park, etc.) You can play this for 10 minutes or an hour. Sometimes we don't even keep score, because it is just fun to see how well you know the other players. Kids over 8 can play, as long as they can read.

I ordered twice from Amazon with the After Dark Expansion pack. Both times I only received the base game. Amazon made it right and refunded me, but I wasn't going to chance a third order, so I contacted Dyce Games directly. They sent me the expansion back along with their newest game - Rate My Friends. Played the base First to Worst at a gathering that included family and friends. It was eye opening to learn about everyone. What we thought they liked vs what they actually liked was hilarious. Playing the After Dark with hubby only. A good way to spice things up. I haven't had a chance to play Rate My Friends, but it's in the bag to go to camp in the spring.
