works like it should
it is a tight fit but that is needed, you just have to pull it in tight to be able to fasten the velcro, it is thick enough and holds back about 85% of the heat on a hot 110f California day, I would buy again if needed.

Works to eliminate radiant heat coming from the exhaust hose!
We bought this trying to eliminate the radiant heat that came off the exhaust hose going to the window. Prior to installing this, the standard vinyl accordion hose was emitting heat that permeated the small room where the unit was, so the AC unit was sucking in the hot air in a never-ending round robin of heat exchange. This fixed the issue and keeps that radiant heat from escaping, creating a noticeably cooler temperature in the room and doesn't tax the AC unit as much as when this sleeve wasn't installed. The bands that hold the sleeve in place could be a little more robust. As they tend to let the sleeve creep from the attachment points at both the exhaust port on the AC unit and the window when repositioning our unit to clean it.

Totally worth it
I could feel the difference in temperature in the room within about 5 minutes. Only problem is it is much longer that I need. I was able to fold some up at the bottom. May not look super nice but it's so worth it

terrible product
I have 3 portable AC's. I bought this hose cover because it was cheaper than my previous covers. First of all, the strap is not velcro and is very flimsy. It has to be put on before you cover the hose. Second, when you push the Ac into place, and the hose curls, the velcro on the wrap gets gaps. I was able to fix this, but it's just a poor design. Also, to keep it tight, there were places the velcro would not stick. I suggest getting a wrap that slides over the hose. And make sure the straps are velcro, so you can adjust them.

Buyer Beware
The cover is so thick the hose will not bend, which it must to connect window to air conditioner. In fact in trying to make it work both couplers broke away from the hose causing me many problems.
