Wow! I'm impressed!
To be honest, after having owned a restaurant and buying and using commercial ice makers, I really didn't have much expectations with these. The price was very inexpensive for what it promises to do so I went ahead and bit the bullet just to try it out. I've been using it for about 2-3 weeks straight now and I gotta say, I'm IMPRESSED!The unit is bulkier than what pictures may seem. But that's ok as I've got plenty of space for it. When they say it makes ice in as little as 6-7 minutes, it wasn't lying. However, the first batch isn't the greatest. Still, it was quite amazing. It's fairly loud when running, but tolerable. I would say it's quieter than most dishwasher for sure. I leave it running all the time. When the ice bin is full, I'd say it's enough ice for 2 tall glasses if filled up almost all the way. So it's not meant to produce ice for a party, but 3-4 people no problem. If you have kids too then they can wait another 20-30 minutes for theirs. You of course don't have to wait for the bin to fill up, so if you're in a hurry less than 10 minutes and you'd got another batch. You can choose small or large ice sizes. I prefer the large as it melts a lot slower. The ice maker itself doesn't have a water filter, but I'm glad it doesn't cause that'll be one more thing to upkeep. So I just use a Brita water filter pincher I keep in the fridge to fill it up. Filling it up is extremely easy as well, you just open the lid, lift the ice bin and pour water in. There is a MAX marked line that is very easy to see so you'd know never to overfill it. There is a red light that comes on when water is running low too, which is really useful because it's bright enough to see from far. Each fill produces quite a bit of ice so it's not something you'd have to do often. Also, I've tried it with water from the tap and the ice tastes amazing... using ice from the filtered pincher makes it taste PERFECT!! Also, speaking about the pincher I use to fill it, because I keep it in the fridge, it helps speed up the ice making process tremendously. I've never timed it to see how much faster it is, but I will say it's kept up easily with the ice usage in my household. So that's something I recommend.I haven't had it long enough to speak on it's longevity, but so far for the price and what it does it's been a SUPER awesome purchase!

This thing is awesome
I moved into an apartment from my house and was stunned to find no ice maker in the freezer. Silly me. I ordered this on a lark because I hated trays taking up room in my limited freezer space, not to mention the hassle of refilling them. I wasn’t expecting much as I didn’t spend a ton of money, but this little devil has been cranking out cold little nuggets for six months now with no issues at all! Yes, it makes a racket when it dumps, as do all ice makers. No biggie for me. I clean it regularly so I have no problems with smell or discoloration. It blends into my counter space sitting right next to the fridge. I highly recommend it.

Not perfect, but *exactly* what we needed!
6 people live in our home, all of whom use ice regularly in water bottles, coolers, etc. so our in-freezer ice maker doesn't even begin to keep up. We were purchasing a 10lb bag of ice from the grocery store every 2-3 days and still constantly running out... always at the most inconvenient times! We've had this machine for nearly two and a half weeks and it has kept us fully stocked with ice since (after waiting at least 4 hrs before plugging in). We've been running machine about 5-6 hrs a day.PROS- Easy easy easy.- Makes ice quickly and constantly with only occasional water refills needed (~4hrs).- It's good ice. A bit on the softer side - especially when melting.CONS- Ice is slightly wet so if you dump it into a freezer bin it will freeze together and you'll need to break it apart before using (every time I pour ice into the freezer, I break all the ice up with a metal ice scoop).- It does generate some heat. Not excessive, but you need to keep it at least 6" away from other appliances or walls to ventilate appropriately.- It does generate some noise as water fills/drains from trays (gurgling), when the ice cubes drop and again when they are scooped into the holding bin (knocking), and from the fan (hum), which runs constantly. None are particularly loud - 56dB (quiet office) right next to the machine, 40dB (quiet library) 10ft away, and 35dB (whisper) 20ft away.OTHER NOTES- I wouldn't leave it unattended for more than 2 hours on end because the bin fills up, it stops making ice, and then the ice starts to melt. After melting, it will keep recycling (clever feature), but it results in a bunch of partially melted ice cubes.- I wouldn't plan on keeping ice in this machine after it's made. I recommend emptying the catch tray pretty regularly (every 45m-1hr) to keep ice from melting.- Because the ice is smaller than our freezer ice *and* it has a hole in the middle, it will melt faster (one of our kids insistes this melts faster). Compared to our Kenmore freezer ice, we need to use about 70% more of this ice to equal the same mass of freezer ice (10 freezer cubes = 17 Crownful cubes). At this ratio, just as cold and lasts just as long.- No issues with taste as others have mentioned.- Have only cleaned with a paper towel wipe-down thus far.

This ice maker is great.
This ice maker works perfectly. We always have to buy extra ice when our family gathers together for any occasion. This worked perfectly for our Christmas gathering. We had plenty of ice for all day. We didn’t run out. It saved us money and a lot of trouble. It makes ice fast and tastes great. It holds a lot of water and keeps making ice. It’s really easy to clean and looks nice on the counter. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs extra ice for those special occasions.
