This wire tensioner does the job it is intended for, but I had to figure out what that was and how to use it, because it doesn't come with any instructions. Clearly the target demographic is already in the know. The finish on it is pretty rough, but that hasn't yet impacted its use.This wire tensioner is selling for £5.59 at the time of this review. If you search around you can find equivalent items for a fair bit less.

When I ordered this, I saw the product photos and I didn't think the finish was very good on the product at all, but hey, let's see if it's okay in real life. No. The finish is a lot worse. In fact it's absolutely terrible. There are rough edges, unremoved swarf, nicks and scratches galore - it's very easy to cut yourself on the metal if you're not careful. However it does work, which is the important thing.I'm using this to keep tension on a clothes line that seems to stretch a fair bit over the year, despite having a wound metal core. It was easy to set up and is working fine. I'm not sure how well it will stand the punishment of the Great British weather,. The metal looks like it might be rust-proof, but time will tell.I'm giving this three stars because the application and the price are both fine, but the finish of the tensioner is very bad.
