This car safety tool is impressive. It’s much more strong and sturdy than most others I’ve seen. The included storage pouch is also nice. The velvety fabric provides protection for objects that come in contact with the tool. A must have for peace of mind and protection in the car.

This is such a good tool! I feel so much safer driving on windy mountain roads with no guard rails several hundred feet above placid bodies of water! I can probably nap wile driving now without worrying about being unable to exit my submerged vehicle. Thanks boulder tools!

Here's one tool you hope you won't ever need to use, but is important to have for safety. I drive for work and travel often so it's necessary to have various safety equipment within reach inside the car. One idea is to have a few items in small backpack you can grab easily. If near water put a small flotation belt inside so the pack rises and you can grab the belt.This is a heavy duty item. The pointed cone head is to strike window glass and break it. There's a sharp cutting tool that is meant to slice through a seatbelt. Handle is textured which makes for good grip and easy to find. If you carry a lightweight tool for yourself, this would be a good secondary tool in case of instances someone else needs your assistance.

I imagine there are multiple ways one could become trapped in a car and need to escape but can’t for some reason. Not only if the car is filling with water but a road accident could cause the car to flip or you’re trapped by the airbag. This is something I would want to be handy if caught in a situation like that.This has some weight to it. I think its pointed tip (which comes with a plastic safety cap) could easily shatter glass if you could apply force while holding it at the end of the dense handle. The handle isn’t smooth; it’s got texture to help your hand grip it better. I thunk that would be especially helpful under water. I have read that it’s best to hit an outer corner of the side windows first because the glass is more likely to shatter there. Then hit the center. I’m not sure where to best hit a windshield first.There is another important function connected to this tool; a seat belt cutter. From what I can tell it’s a sharp edge of a blade that is protected by a metal immovable hood. I think you slide the seatbelt between the blade and the hood and it will cut through it. The hood protects your fingers while leaving the very short sharp edge available at all times.Now my question is where to put it so that it will remain accessible even if the car rolls and I am caught in my belt. It has to be within reach but fixed in position so it doesn’t get loose. Hmmmmm.

There’s no way I’d be able to use it to cut the seatbelt. The clip that protects the blade is on so tight I couldn’t even get it off. DON’T waste your money.

This is one of those things you can't really test but makes me feel better having in the car. That being said, the razor to cut the seatbelt is VERY small and I feel like you would have to hacksaw your way through a belt if you needed to use this feature. There are no directions that come with it but I think you're supposed to break a window in an emergency from the corner? I am not sure how useful this tool will or will not be but it does not give me much confidence in design.

This tool can save a person's life by cutting a seatbelt and/or smashing a window in case of emergency. The tool is heavy/sturdy and I'm confident it would do the job if it became necessary. It's high quality. I have peace of mind having this in my vehicle.
