These are great. I haven't used them yet, but after unboxing they have far exceeded my expectations. For $27, come on! The reviews sounded like they were razor blades made out of tin foil. Not at all. They are just slightly more flexible than my every-day stuff (which are not cheap). But they're not going to bend serving food. I would say the edges are "crisp," but not sharp. You're not going to cut yourself on them (unless maybe you try hard to). They have a shiny finish and look nice. Plain, just the way I like.Yes, they are smallish, but the same size as my everyday stuff. They're not prison cafeteria slop scoops! They are perfect for an individual to scoop a portion of mashed potatoes or stab a hunk of meat (the fork tangs are on the sharp side). The flat tongs are perfect for dogs and could be used to slide a burger off a grill (I prefer not to touch the cooked meat with the same utensils I use to flip them. So I could use these as the clean "final grabber."). The silicon tongs are barely discernible from my OXOs, in quality and looks. The ladles are small, no doubt. But they could serve gravy from a typical boat, or meat juice from a serving dish, no problem.They are absolutely exactly what I wanted. Potluck parties and group holidays find me juggling a large selection of casserole dishes, all fighting for a spot on the buffet or picnic table. But nobody brings serving stuff. I don't need or want 14" serving tools, that would just clutter up the table and be unmanageable, and falling out of the dish, making a mess, getting in the way of the other dishes. I wanted a 9" set that I could use once or twice a year, and not worry about losing them when people "accidentally" take them home. Now I don't have to worry about using my "good stuff." I'm thinking of engraving my initials into them, so I know whose are whose. And I'm thinking of getting a seconds set, so I would really not care about losing them. I'm so glad I didn't buy plastic, or a slew of disposables. This set will last forever, and I can feel good about how clean they'll get in the dishwasher.For 27 bucks, they are a stainless steel steal! Highly recommend.
