I came across this engraver while searching to see what was out there and available. After watching a few video reviews, knowing that I could run into some minor issues with setup or getting things running, I decided to go ahead and order because of the fact that if you do have any issues, the company has great customer service that took care of all their customers. While setting it up for the first time and downloading their engraving software, I did run into an issue with the software wanting to update. Clicking download only brought up an option to open in directory, which did nothing to apply the update, and without it the camera feature wasn’t working while on WiFi. To remedy this, all I did was go to the CutLabX website and download the software directly from there instead of the way it’s stated in the user manual, which downloads the current version with the update already applied.After everything was finally set up, I started playing around with it and testing out the software. I will say, the software itself could use a bit of work, but it is usable. I love the camera feature. Being able to place your design directly where you want it without having to use the preview feature to guess is great. So far I’ve played around with a few engravings for business cards, wallets, and will soon be working with glass and the rotary tool.I do recommend getting the air filter attachment, since it’ll help to keep your work area from smelling like the various things you’re engraving. Overall it’s a great printer once it’s set up and ready to go!

I bought this unit for my wife for xmas. She was extremely excited when she opened the unit. Little did we know it would be a whole day nightmare of banging our heads together trying to get the unit to do something. We were unsuccessful. After following the vague and misleading directions, downloading the driver, connecting via USB, and running the proprietary software, it wouldn’t do anything but turn off and on. After a full day wasted of unsuccessful attempts, we were able to connect only through WIFI, upon completing the laser unit would quickly move all the way to the front left and make a horrible clicking noise (sounding like grinding gears?) and a pop-up error on computer screen. After a full day troubleshooting and numerous attempts, nothing would work. Extremely frustrating and ruined my wife’s xmas present and day. There was no customer support and no one to call or contact. I suppose (maybe) through exchanging emails, over time we may have been able to fix the problem? But, this was NOT what we wanted to spend our time on. Is it possible our unit was defective? Maybe? But we were so disheartened by the experience, we were no longer interested in getting another unit. Ultimately, we returned the unit and I purchased a well known brand that was more than double the price. The only thing good i can say about the unit is its compact size and it was packaged well. Also, i will note…. I found out later that this product was ori originally crowd funded on one of the popular crowdfunding sites. I have learned my lesson with those in the past. Those products are almost always destined for trouble and promises rarely meet expectations. The seller needs better quality control. If everything worked as described and the setup was user friendly, it could be a great project.

The camera is what made me so excited about this laser. Also, this machine is easy to use and all I need at this point. My small business has increased since I started engraving. I Love it, Love it, Love it. Thank you WAINLUX for creating such an easy to use machine. I am looking forward to the Cutlabx software upgrade.

Received this laser machine, impressed with its enclosed design and portability. The 10W laser suits most tasks, ideal for libraries and classrooms. Updated review:Wainlux has reached out to me, after speaking to the team they provided me step by step videos on how to adjust the track to fix my hardware issue and the machine now works great.They have also been very supportive of my feedback on the software features and issues. They even recorded a personal video and shared it with me to help with one issue I was having. They have released a new version of cutlabx which fixes the roller engraving rotation issue along with enhancements to the overall software. If they keep making these little additions to the software this will be a great laser package as the hardware is fantastic. What I would like to see added; full support to import svg files with all layers camera support in using USB this will be my go to laser. I will update this review if they take my feedback and bring in the last few features.Overall after wainlux reached out to support my issues I would recommend this laser. I think the hardware is great, the roller and air purifier are a must add and the laser cuts and engraves on all materials great. If the support keeps up like it has over the last few days this is one of the best lasers on the market.Original reviewI bought this when it was on kickstarter and wanted to share my feedback to help others. The laser itself is great however the support (company) and software is very bad. My unit arrived damaged, over the last month I have emailed wainlux, the kickerstarter POC and the contact email on their site, I have got no response.The software is missing critical features, you can not import any files to use the template cuts; this means you are not able to cut, then engrave on a file at the same time (.svg) you download it is either ALL cut or engrave. I have to use Lightburn which then does not work with the camera. If you are not familiar with lasers or 3d printers you may find it hard flashing the device to support the open drivers for lightburn.I hope this helps some people, as I am stuck with this product I have already bought a XTools laser as they have great support and their out of box software and use is great.
