This is a great illustrated book on how to draw jewelry--I found it immensely helpful as I often think of designs but couldn't get that transferred to paper--this book was so helpful and my conceptual drawings have improved greatly, and so has my jewelry production!

This is a good book, I wish I had it years ago. I'm a mostly self taught jeweler and never had a design or drawing class. So this helps lay out your ideas to better translate them from your head to the paper to the metal. I saw this in a museum a few months ago and wanted it then, but it was $75.00. So I'm glad I waited to get it here. Thanks so much!

I bought this book and don't regret it. But I guess it has good bit and bad bits. There are no examples of fine jewellery and by that I mean something like a three stone claw set ring etc... It is mostly bigger pieces, bangles, bracelet links etc.. and does look at them in some detail, but I think the strength in this book is in the rendering. It goes into pretty great detail on light and shadow on metal and how to render it. Matt, polished metal, gemstone rendering with cabochons and facetted stones, talks about white metal and yellow metal (what colours to use) and goes into a few different mediums from coloured pencils to ink to gouache. So if you want to get into rendering this will be helpful, if you want technical drawing style sketches of fine jewellery then also buy Jewelry Illustration by Dominique Audette. (Heavy on the tech drawing style-can be daunting but still great!)

It is probably a good book for someone but not for me. This book teaches drawing, like it says. I don't want to spend the time this book requires to learn drawing. It would be a whole. New hobby with the time required. I guess I am looking for a quick learn.
