So far, this kettle is absolutely brilliant ...
I'd been looking at all the kettles on Amazon including the more top-of-the-range ones, and this one stood out for some reason (not many reviews, but none below 4 stars!).I'm someone absolutely passionate about good design and - particularly on items that have been manufactured for many years - I have zero tolerance for poor design; after all, the manufacturers have the benefit of tens-of-years of UX to call upon to make sure their product performs correctly. This kettle is good quality, and is well balanced in the hand when pouring. It's well made but not horrendously heavy when filled. The temperature dial is really clear on the front. The fill gauge is a bit unclear because it's black on a dark background, but the display is very clear in terms of being able to actually see where the water level is, so it doesn't bother me that I can't see the markings because I can clearly see the water level. The on/off switch is substantial and glows a lovely blue colour when switched on.It boils rapidly and is very quiet compared to our previous kettle. I love the black and rose gold, and the quirky steampunk-type design. Hopefully, it will keep working (*I'll amend here if not!) but so far I love absolutely everything about it ... and that's not easy feedback to achieve from me.

Good looking kettle
Quick boil and fairly quiet, easy to keep clean. Good quality for the price. Like the temperature dial on the front ,makes it look bit retro.

Pretty but in use feels cheaply made
The looks are stunning, it presents itself great in our kitchen with black handles and other accents. But for the price I would expect more sturdiness. The kettle wobbles on the base. The metal feels extremely thin. To take the lid off is a struggle then it slides on with no effort at all worryingly, you need to give it a twist. The mesh filter is supposed to be removable for washing - ours is like welded in, didn't manage to take it out yet. It's quite wide mesh anyway so it won't stop fine scale.Difficult to empty it completely so not easy to deal with scale. The termomether is very handy, there is slight delay in showing correct temperature but that's natural with analog termomethers. But the scale! It's marked every 20 degree and there are two dots in between. So one dot is what, 7 degrees? wasn't an engineer who designed it surely. We judge how much water there is inside by the weight as the transparent window is behind the handle and can't see what it shows.Overall we are happy, it boils water. We miss transparency (haha) of our old glass kettle, you also could select target temperature. But this one looks so cool.

Good kettle
We really like our kettle, got a nice unique design which we are a fan of. It's useful to have the temperature gauge on the front, to see if the kettle needs re-boiling or not.Only slight downside we find is that the minimum amount of water is quite a lot compared to other kettles we've had in the past, which is a bit of a waste on electricity when you just want to make one cup of tea.
