There are other cheaper options, but I decided to go with Rexel as that is the make of my shredder. The process of using these sheets is as simple as it gets. Just feed them into the machine! I am just going with the manufacturer's recommendation on this, never having oiled any previous shredders I have owned. That said I have a good machine that has now remained in top condition for over 18 months of intensive use. These oil sheets represent a small cost if they prolong the working life of your shredder.

when you buy a shredder it never says to buy shredder oil to help maintain the effectiveness of the blades or shredder oil sheets but if you bother to read customer reviews which since you are reading this I'm probably typing to the converted then like me this is the way you find out.These sheets are A5 size. Originally I bought them on offer at another website so do shop around on price before purchasing.Are they worth the price? It works out to £1 a sheet and the packaging recommends to run one of these sheets through a shredder every month and I find that sufficient for my general household usage. So dependent on your use I would say yes £1 a month is still cheaper than a new shredder.They are really straight forward to use - simply place through the shredder as you would a piece of paper so you don't come into contact with the oil and there is no chance you getting oil on your carpets or needing to wipe up any spills.I bought the rexel brand as I have a rexel shredder but the guarantee with my shredder didn't state to only use rexal oil or sheets on it so I guess you could try other brands.

Easy to use Shredder oil. I used to have the oil bottle, which I would put on a A4 piece of paper and put through the shedder. yes that is cheaper. However it often leaves oil drops around the place. Just not worth the hassle. These Oil sheets are just easy to use and do the job!

Purchased these because I don't want to invalidate the guarantee or warranty for the shredder.Keeps the shredder well oiled and felt sorry for the machine which had to shred 18 bags worth of shredding.

My shredder is working well so I’m hoping that this is down to my using these sheets. I think worth the money to keep things running smoothly.

This product is exactly as described and currently cheaper than in the shops.I find we are more inclined to use the shredder sheets regularly to maintain the shredder as opposed to using the bottled oil as there is no mess. You just feed the sheet into the shredder once a month or after a few bouts of extremely heavy usage and the oil impregnated in the sheet is released whilst it is being shred.Will definitely buy some more and would definitely recommend. Please check that your machine is compatible and is not liquid oil lubrication only.

Only 3 stars as I've not had enough experience of the product yet. I've used only one sheet on my domestic shredder which already has had several thousand sheets of paper passed through it - I was not aware until recently that shredders are supposed to be oiled. So far the only one Rexel Oil Sheet does appear to have made a difference - the mincing noise sounded a little sweeter and the jam of shredded paper stuck in the mincing rollers was smaller than usual, i.e. the shredded paper was falling clear more freely. Time will tell if these small effects are significant... will the life of the shredder be lengthened?
