Explore America on Amtrak's California Zephyr (American Rail Guides)

The California Zephyr is an exciting and fantastic trip! The book was a good read prior to this bucket list trip - it pointed out many sites I may have missed.

This is a great reference book to use if you are taking a trip on Amtrak’s California Zephyr. It’s small enough to carry with you during the trip and is a resource for the entire trip! Prepare yourself before you travel to have an even better experience

If you are going a long distance train trip get the book. The author does all the major journeys.It is a perfect travel companion giving exactly the info needed in an easy to follow form.

Good info

Gives highlights of each stop and helps you stay oriented from one stop to the next. Really enjoyed this book on our bucket-list round the country train trip. Used Empire Builder, Coast Starlight, and California Zephyr from this series.

Zero useful information. Total waste of money. No pictures or maps either.

It's good, information about each point along the trip, but no maps at all. Just descriptions of each point. Put an end to end map, page 1, before anything else.

After using Explore America on Amtrak's Empire Builder on my recent Amtrak trip, I purchased this book to read as an armchair tourist. It proved to be enteraining and informative. The result is that I am now determined to take this amazing journey. If you plan to take a long-distance Amtrack jorney, one of these books should be the first things you pack!
