Great fun film full of action and stunts.
If you are an expendables fan, or just want a great action movie, without it being a complicated plot then I would recommend this film. The presence of all these actions stars together works well, and if you just sit back an let it wash over you, then the stunts, and action are great fun. The addition of the younger expendables refreshes the format, and includes a very hot woman in it, who is a world martial arts champion. I think that this is what sets this movie apart, all the main characters bring their own real life skills to the film, and that and their appearance gives it credibility. Unlike some action movie stars that I could mention, the characters are credible. I think that Craig as the latest Bond was successful because he looks the part, whereas some previous Bonds, didn't look as if they could throw people around, they just didn't have the physique.

Hard hitting, pumping action mixed with humour, awesome with a good storyline.
Out of all the " Expendables" movies, I like this one the best. The movie starts with exciting, pumping action. The language is clean, other than one "f" word, compared to the part 1 and 2 of the expendables. This one can be watched by the whole family and enjoyed more especially if you have a surround sound system. It has Dolby Atmos which fills the room with sounds that puts you as if you are in the action. The story line is good as it keeps you guessing at times as to what happens next, and the unexpected happens. It has many popular actors in it mixed with moments of laughter. The transition is smooth from action to action. I hope there will be a part 4 as this is a movie you can watch over and over again, and not get bored. Happy viewing.

EXPENDABLES 2 IS BETTER
I watched this in hospital while I was waiting for Claire to go into labour so I wasn't really concentrating. But, I liked the film and it wasn't as bad as everyone claimed.Sylvester Stallone gets a misson from Harrison Ford to go after someone and knack him in because he is an arms dealer. That someone they find out in the Expendables co-founder and Mel Gibson. What everyone didn't like was the fact that Stallone dumped the original crew of Statham, Lungden etc to get a new crew of Banderas, UFC fighter Rousey etc, just to get the old crew back because the new crew was crap.I agree with that and I didn't see the point of him doing that. Rosey is s*** at acting and should stick to UFC. Mel Gibson was the best part in the film ad he is good at playing the bad guy.Wesley Snipes was hardly in it and I couldn't see the point of adding him in the cast and to be honest I didn't miss Bruce Willis and I found Jet Li's cameo pointless. Other then that I liked the film but I like Expendables 2 better.

Usual black bars but sound quality top notch
I'm not reviewing the movie itself because thats down to the individual...but I will review the disc itself as in sound and vision..It's the typical Blu ray quality and shot in 2:35:1 which will show the awful black bars top and bottom..so stretching the movie to fit either by Blu ray player or your telly will have to be made if you want to reduce them...The sound quality is top notch though, and the stereo and steering first class giving you the full explosions with impact if you use a sound surround system...Cheers

The old and the young - the action doesnt stop !!!
This is the latest in the film's series and with the introduction of a new character (Harrison Ford replacing Bruce Willis) and a mix of the old school and younger crew becoming 'Expendables', this does nothing to take away from the continued 'wow' factor. Like Exp 1 & 2, yes, the plot is predictable and the effects are amazing. All in all another great action packed film and I particularly like Jason Statham's character in all three films.

A bit of the old and a bit of the new
Fans of this series know exactly what they're getting into here - the old fellas are back in action, bringing high octane stuff and minimal plotting with a few nods and winks. It's enjoyable stuff in the short term whilst not being hugely memorable in the longer term. Most of the big boys are back with Harrison Ford stepping in for Bruce Willis this time out. Wesley Snipes, Mel Gibson and Antonio Banderas all join in the fun as well and each adds value in their own way. The plot finds Sly recruiting a younger, fitter team to take on an old foe he believed was dead. So this means some fresh meat gets added to the mix alongside the old timers already mentioned. The most memorable of these being the awesome Ronda Rowsey - her acting skills may not quite match her UFC ones but I'm not gonna tell her that and she suits the role just fine.To be honest - personally I preferred the tongue in cheek tomfoolery of the second film to the slightly more serious tone of the first. This one falls somewhere in the middle and there's still some decent gags here including the sequence where Kelsey Grammer strolls into the flick like a breath of fresh air. There's a good amount of action and plenty of gunplay as you'd expect but it's all fairly bloodless - that's what a 12 certificate gets you for your money. There's still some dodgy acting here and there (I'm looking at you Dolph Lundgren) but these films aren't about winning Oscars of course. Overall, it hits the marks its aiming for and is a decent slice of old school fun.

Best Expendables yet, please don't make the next one (4) an 'R'
Quite Simply, the Best Expendables yet. Don't get me wrong, the other two were great films, especially for anyone who grew up with the likes of Arnie, Bruce, Sly, JCVD, Dolph etc etc. to hell with reality, good cartoon-esk ott violence. Not watched the theatrical version, only the extended, but then why would you??
