The fingerboard we didn't know we needed
My 8 year old son has a climbing wall at his school and he loves it. He saw this piece of equipment on Amazon and said he "NEEDED" to have it. So we bought it not really knowing anything about it. He couldn't wait to rip open the box and hang it up! It is super sturdy and...he loves it! He thinks he's getting buff...and getting a six-pack after a week of using it. Um, I'm not so sure about that yet. But this is an affordable, high quality piece! He keeps it in his room and has been caught hanging onto it while checking himself out in the mirror. Ha! I wanted to snap a picture to include with this review but I've never seen him move so quickly when I pulled out my phone/camera. "Mom!!! Do NOT take a picture of me like that!" Ha! Anyway, it's a fun piece and has already given him hours of "climb time!"

Holds too sharp
The edges are way too sharp and hurt your hand when training. I had to purchase some sandpaper to sand it down myself.

My fingers have never been stronger
Now I can lift a school bus with just my pinky! That mom thanked me for saving her kids but I was really just gonna put the bus back down on them… thanks finger board people!

Useful and Effective. Installation Not User-Friendly. Needs Design Improvements.
I got this to hang it from our Iron Gym pull-up bar so that my husband could do some grip training. It comes with no instructions on how to tie and install the cord, which arrives totally detached from the board. As people with no working knowledge of knots, this left us very confused and worried. While trying to feed one end of the cord thru the appropriate hole on the board, the cord frayed and puffed out big time. We used flame to melt the end of the cord and repair the fraying, which worked well, so you might want to go ahead and melt the ends of the cord before trying to thread it. We did our best guesswork on how to tie the cord to both the board and the Iron Gym bar by looking at the product images on this listing, but since we don’t know knots, it’s hard to tell if it’s totally secure. With our struggle to tie it up came the additional problem of trying to make it hang straight, as it’s been crooked every time we’ve tried it. We finally gave up and left it be when it was only slightly crooked. Lastly, because it’s such a hassle to tie up to the point where we don’t want to take it down now that it’s finally secure (seemingly), it gets in the way of utilizing our Iron Gym as we would have typically done before this addition. This would be a 5-star product if only the design were improved so that the board is already threaded with the rope, and then instead of tying the rope to hang from something in a complicated fashion, there could be some kind of clip or hook on it, making it easy to quickly put up and take down. The board is solid wood and thus feels sturdy and has the expected amount of weight to it. It is fairly well-sanded, so all of it is smooth, except for one grip slot, which must’ve been overlooked. So, my husband quickly sanded that by hand with some sandpaper, as it wasn’t really that bad.Since installation, my 150-pound husband has been able to use this grip trainer daily, and he’s already seeing his grip improve. As this board hangs even lower than the Iron Gym (possibly only due to our poor tie-up job), my 6’0 husband’s bent knees nearly touch the ground when he hangs from it. I’m trying to practice with it too, and even though I can do several pull-ups on the Iron Gym, I’m not yet able to dangle freely from this, though I expect to eventually.Overall, I think it’s a useful and non-bulky addition ideal for a small home gym, though it could be designed to be more user-friendly.

Not a training board
I am trying to get a nice hangboard to train, so I bought several boards. When i have the fist sight on this board, i have no words. I never thought the board polished like this as it is said "polished". When i try to hang, the edges almost hurt my fingers. Never Recommend any climbers to buy, it is not a training a board.

Needed modification
I like the various grips but out of the box it was hard to use. If you hang it from a pullup bar like I did from, my weight made the board move forwards at the top and backwards at the bottom. I added a board to the bottom to prevent this and now it is easier to use.

Good product, wish it had some instructions.
This look identical to the pictures. I don't have any issue with roughness or having to sand it to use it. I do wish it had some hanging instructions. Like others, I wouldn't not consider my knot tying as very strong so trying to figure out the best way to mount this was a bit of a challenge. Of course, I can barely hang onto any of the handholds, but that is the point of it. Hopefully in a couple of months those results will be different.

Small board
There are no instructions on how to set up this board. It hangs but it tilt forward when I try to climb it. The board is smaller than how it shows in the photo. The rope that comes with has a bit of string pulled out.
