Runny.
I was expecting this to be a little thicker but it's very thin. It's ok to use just be expecting it to absolutely pour out of the bottle fast!

It’s Liquitex so it’s a given it will be a good product
It’s good gesso , easy to apply . It’s consistency is nice and creamy not too thick , bit on the runny side but not an issue. Once it’s down it dries quick . Great for sketchbooks with not so good paper very useful . This product will enable me to use sketchbooks for much more media than I could without it . I highly recommend you try this product . It also mixes with acrylic wonderfully when mixing colours .

USED ON CANVAS BEFORE PAINTING 🖌🎨
I Decided to Purchase this Liquitex Gesso & give it a Try out.I Purchase a Lot of Liquitex Products & find them Of Good Quality & at Affordable prices. This Gesso Does seem alot more fluidly than the previous Gesso I had been purchasing But it Does Go on Nicely & Good coverage.I Find using a Shower Glass Window Wiper or a Large Car Filler plastic paddle Does a Grand Job at smoothly Putting this Gesso on to Canvas 👌 Applying it on with a Brush leaves Brush Lines when it drys but by using this method of applying the Gesso it leaves No Brush Mark's what so ever Which Extremely important when it comes to Painting Smooth Objects like Faces or Smooth sea scenes & Detail Art 👍Sometimes you will Purchase a Canvas from the Store & it states its already Gesso Primed But I always Tend to Give A New Cotton stretched canvas a Couple of coats of my own Gesso. Also if You purchase a Canvas & you find that its Extremely RoughIts a Good Idea to Get some lowish Grit Grade Sandpaper & give it a sand down Making sure you Dont Put to much pressure on the canvas while Sanding .After sanding it all over give it a Wipe down to remove Dust & then simply apply this Gesso on to Canvas using something Flat and Smooth like a (Large Car body Filler Paddle ) to Apply The Gesso over the Canvas evenly making sure you cover the Whole canvas ...Then wait till Dry & Do the same process Again using some Fine Grit sandpaper to give it Another Light Sanding over 👍Brush off Sanding Dust and Apply a 2nd coat of Gesso over Again then Leave to Dry!!! You will Now Have a Great Smooth finished Canvas...Lovely to Work on - Making it easier to Apply Paints And Better for Blending and so on 🖌🎨 I Paint in Acrylic & this Process Works Great for the Art work I create.Going back to this product I Have Found it to be Good Gesso👍It Goes on the Canvas Nicely & spreads around Great .It's a bit on the Pricey Side for the size you get but It is Good Stuff !!!So Yes I would Definitely Recommend this Product To Anyone Looking For Some GessoFor Priming There Canvas.I Hope someone has Found This Review Helpful ? Thank you.

Goes a long way
For years I've been using £5 gesso from The Works but decided to try this product despite it being two or three times more expensive. The instructions suggest that it takes a long while to dry properly which is not always convenient. I can't honestly say that this is better but it does go a long way and the squeeze bottle is easier to use.

Not convinced this hasn't been watered down
I use a lot of Liquitex gesso but this particular product has the consistency of thick water, it splashes when I use it, which is not the expected consistency of Liquitex acrylic. The seal was also broken when I unscrewed the lid to remove the inner seal. Not convinced that the product has not been watered down, very unusual consistency (and yes, of course I've shaken the bottle before use).

Totally adequate gesso
Does the job properly, no issues. Perhaps slightly more expensive than other gesso options but I have been lead to believe that it is better quality than competitors.

Great Coverage for Burnt Clay
I bought this after burning two of my clay polymer sculpts in the oven and they came out solid black but still otherwise fine. Wanting to salvage them as I had been pleased with them, I searched what was the best thing to use to prime the clay for painting (since the black was showing through the paint when I initially tried) and Gesso was what came up. Bought this one based on price/bottle size, tried it straight away and it covered the sculpt perfectly. I'll use this to prime all my pieces from now on before painting, even when I don't burn them solid black!

A good alternative to spray priming miniatures
Purchased this as an alternative primer for painting miniatures. Have had mixed results depending on the quality and type of miniatures I was priming. With cheap plastic it had a lot of pinhole bubbles appear as it dried, I can only assume due to a reaction to the quality of the plastic, however with decent quality miniatures it did a really decent job of priming the miniatures. You just need to be aware in advance the results can be hit and miss and may require a bit of experimentation to find out what does and does not work, and where you need to thin the Gesso or not.If you are looking for an alternative to spray priming if you have no outdoor space to do so, i would definitely recommend giving this a try.
