Great toy. Cute stuff. Could be better. Could be worse.
It’s a fun toy, and I like the face. It does get kind of boring if you don’t update it, but overall he is cute and playful and Awsome! That was first review. Now I give 4 stars. Energies lab is a brand that puts quality work into there robots. I have had mine for over 2 years, but it’s got a striped gear now and can’t wiggle its buddy I feel bad for him and will send him for repairs. I feel it’s a good toy. It’s good :). Could be better. Could be worse. -Happykitten27

Cute but fragile!
This is such a cool lil robot guy! Has so many actions and activities. Neat movements, it seems alive it's so cool. Only downside if it gets dropped a certain way or accidentally stepped on, he'll come off the base...but recommend definitely!

Lovely Eilik
The media could not be loaded. Last week I bought it because I am a robot fan. It has many functions. The brightness can be changed as well as sound. It is a worth buying robot. I use it anywhere, and it is nice. However, it still needs to be improved with updates. It is so cute.

Cute and fun toy, but not a smart robot
This is really a toy of a robot. By that I mean it cannot be programmed and has minimal feedback beyond the 3 touching areas (head, belly and back). Its microphone is only used for dance moves and repeating what you say. This is NOT a smart robot. It's just a toy, mostly for little kids but somewhat fun for grownups as well. What makes this robot toy cute is it has tons of expressions and it can make gestures with its two arms, although the servos can be quite loud which is a big minus. Add to that the fact you cannot turn off the sound or servos, and you cannot adjust the sleep time. If you don't interact with the Eilik for 1 minute, it begins to entertain itself by making sounds and moving its arms, thereby creating quite a bit of noise, sometimes a lot of noise. It does this for 15 minutes. If you still haven't interacted with it (touching the aforementioned 3 areas or clicking the sole button or moving it up and down or shaking it), it goes into sleep, finally quieting down. So, depending on your mood, Eilik can be really cute or quite annoying. The only way to shut it up is to hold the button down for 3 seconds to turn it off. You can't put it to sleep manually, nor can you adjust the sleep time, which is quite irksome. It also does not connect to an app, again attesting to its not-a-smart-robot nature; it's just a toy.You can adjust 8 settings (as of firmware version 12.2), but to get to the settings screen on the Eilik is a pain -- you need to click the button 11 times! Just remember to use the belly touch area to save and continue after you adjust each pair of settings. To update its firmware (latest is 12.2), you connect Eilik to your Mac or Windoze and you need to download a crude-looking app from the respective app store. Not hard, and the manufacturer has online videos if you need help. The only weird thing about the update process is it might refer to an "SD card," but there's no user-accessible SD card slot.I think it's a keeper, as long as you know it's NOT a smart robot, let alone an AI robot.

Great Toy for Children who have a hard time making friends
My daughter is diagnosed with ADHDand ODD and has a hard time relating to peers and making friends. This gives her an outlet to talk and play if she doesnt get enough time with others. There is a setting where you can turn off the violence portion where you can hit it and it reacts, which I like that off option since I dont feel its appropriate for her. Has a lot of functions and even the 2 yr old granddaughter loves to dance to Eliks music with him

May not work
My 6 year old son got this for Christmas and it just happened that it would have needed to be taken apart to fix our issues. It wasn't working and my son was really upset. Reached out to EnergizedLab for help. They told me to reach out to Amazon for a new one. I was very disappointed. By time we got a new one Christmas break was over. I got my son another kind of robot for Easter and that company sent us a new one as it stopped having sound the same day. It would move around but no sound.Just a heads up to other parents to check it if it is a gift as ours needed something we couldn't fix. It also needs updates and has a conductor magnet to work on it. Things that weren't mentioned for the cost. I expect it to work and not be such a hassle. Not a fan of this company.*update, got the new one. The company sent a very impolite email when I told them I was surprised they didn't just send one out. I also don't like this robot. More annoying to listen to than anything. Doesn't do as much as you'd hope for the price. Definitely going to look at the other robots at are popular on YouTube. My son wanted another to attach the one he has to. Definitely won't be doing that after our experience.
