FOM Violin Shoulder Rest (Size 4/4 – 3/4)

Bought for my 9 year old who has recently started violin lessons. Previously purchased a cheap shoulder rest which kept falling off, so after reading the reviews decided for the FOM shoulder rest. It does the job - my child has mentioned that it stays put, and it is quick and easy to put on, remove, and adjust, and it is comfortable. Would recommend.

This Shoulder rest seems to do the trick (for me at least) and makes learning to play the violin that much easier if you are having trouble getting your playing position right. I was reluctant to buy a shoulder rest as I wanted to learn to play correctly but looked into it a bit further and found it is just a matter of personal preference and not really a cheat.The Rest is quite robust and easily adjustable and will fit nicely onto a standard 4/4 acoustic violin. Although my violin is electric it does fit although those with odd shaped electrics will need to look elsewhere as the rubber clips are definitely designed to fit on the edge of a normal violin. I got lucky because although my instrument is electric it's body shape mimics a standard violin.Good piece of kit for the money though with fast delivery and a must for those struggling to keep their violin held in the right place.

Good value for money, the arms 'tilt' to make it more comfortable. It grips the violin really well, and hasn't ever fallen off. Fits a full-size violin okay, although it's probably a bit on the smaller side because it's 3/4 size too. This isn't an issue though.Although it has extendable arms (you can wind them out) they're a little short for me - maybe avoid if you have a very long neck.

This rest is much better than my traditional old springy metal "Yehudi Menuhin" style rest (the design now called the Antoni Violin Shoulder Rest 4/4 & 3/4). The FOM is light, very adjustable, and just does the job, with no risk of losing silly little rubber feet or scratching the violin (as my old rest did!).

I'm a student and have been using this product all through , value for money. I didn't move it as I found the correct sitting arrangement for my violin and I loved it. One fine morning when I picked up my violin to play, to my annoyance one of the rubber rest broke , the metal thread in the screw just brole!!!! Broken beyond belief , ordering a different product hence😭

The media could not be loaded. Not much to add. I will come back after a few weeks and let you know how comfortable it was and see how durable it is after it's been used a few times.Shipping was pretty fast (it wasn't prime).

I purchased this product for my new violin. It was very good and comfortable to use but unfortunately only lasted about four months. Can't recommend.
