OXO Good Grips Bent Icing Knife

I was originally recommended to Oxo's Good Grips range for my mother who had suffered from arthritic hands. I later continued to use those utensils because they performed brilliantly, were easy and comfortable to use and outlasted many others. I continue to buy into the brand where possible for the same reasons.The blade on this has a working length of about 18cm or 7-inches which is sufficient to cover more than half the diameter of any cake that I am ever likely to bake and may just about cover the full width of the smaller ones. As it uses a dog-leg design between handle and the main part of the blade, the handle should never be in contact with a cake's surface, no matter how large it may be. The blade is extremely flexible, far more so than that used up until now, which must be more than 30-years-old and whose wooden handle has finally rotted after being washed many hundreds of times.If this lasts as long as its predecessor, it will outlast me. It is dishwasher-safe and the handle should never rot, unlike wood.

This is a really lightweight angled palette knife, well balanced in the hand and dishwasher safe. Its a good width and the blade is long enough to work on an 8" cake. Its better for softer icing textures such as buttercream but I find the blade to springy for royal icing and prefer to use a firmer knife for that.

This product is easy to clean, quite sturdy, and easy to hold. The blade is made out of stainless steel so it won't rust, and the handle is made out of rubber so it is comfortable to hold in the hand. Overall I am happy with the product and would definitely recommend it.

Used this for the first time the other day to put the buttercream on a substantial chocolate cake and it was great. It was really easy to cover the sides smoothly and create those peaks on the top. Very pleased with this, don't know why I didn't buy one years ago, when frankly I used to bake a lot more cakes than I do now!

Bought this to help me ice cakes more professionally, and it does a great job. The handle is comfortable and the blade is a great size. Works especially well for smoothing buttercream once it is dipped in hot water. Easy to clean and sturdy but flexible. Highly recommended for bakers!

Handy tool for getting a good smooth finish on your iced cakes. I was expecting it to be a lot smaller than what it was, but it hasn't really made a difference. It's also a lot more flexible than what I was expecting. Either way, it's Oxo, so it's of the quality I've come to expect of their products (which is good!)

Purchased this for icing a Christmas cake, As with all OXO products very easy to use. "Good Grips" is a very appropriate strap line. I always tend to look at this range when I need to purchase a kitchen item.... The Christmas Cake icing was a "piece of cake" with this knife!

This tool is of very good quality. The size is exactly what I expected and I hoped to be - very convinient (for my hands at least). I would recommend it.
