Poor construction
With regards to the radio i must say i am not a fan of digital systems which is why i opted for this analogue radio.I was expecting far better quality though.Very poorly assembled with the cheapest materials i think they could find. The tuner/fine tuner have so much play on them turning them a full 360 degree before they start to rotate the tuner arm. This its self is very stiff and creates straining sounds when turning. There is alot of bleed over on all frequencies with virtually zero fine tuning ability. The reception on all bands is very poor. All though the sound when you can find an FM station is fairly good to be fair with decent tones. As for other expected functionality, due to the poor materials used in its construction it negates this. You are left with the feeling this will fall & break onto pieces at any moment when trying to tune a station in.I can't comment on battery life as this will vary greatly depending on battery brand, quality, type & age used. The illuminated backlit dials tuner bar are a good idea, nice and bright.. red.. but not over powering. Will create a nice ambience/glow at night. But i didnt buy this radio to be a lamp. I will stick this in the garage as an emergency emergency radioMy honest opinion would be to tell people NOT TO BUY. It is worth no more than a tenner.... £10 only. So overpriced for sure.I really did expect more.1 good thing, is in a nuclear war or a CME event (coronal mass ejection) , you'll still be able to use transistor/analogue systems, unlike digital rubbish...(Edit was just to correct typos)

It is very difficult to tune into the airband snd I live near a major airport. I also live on the coast and have yet to hear anything on marine band

Very pleased with the radio
Very pleased with the radio. It was a reasonable price, does what I wanted, air and marine band ok for my limited usage, no problems encountered so far. Would recommend.

Good starter airband radio.
I am a radio ham, so do know a bit about radio and this radio if you are into airband is not to bad, Steepletone seem to be into Airband and Marine band also, Shortwave is of no use at all just bleeding from other AM stations, so don't buy if that is what you require it for, it is not a communications receiver just a radio, and at the price you get just that, it looks good and seems to be quite robust, remember it does not scan you have to search for what you are looking for. If you do not have the funds for a more expensive radio this one will start you OK.

Bad Design and Functionality
Hard to use and not of good quality. Should have done more research into what it was capable of doing, reception not great and bleeds into other channels. Return policy is very complex compared to other amazon returns, the process should be easier, customer support was not very friendly.
