A MUST for Teens!
It is so hard with so many 'Labels' out there is to know what you need to search for or how to help our children to manage these amazingly explosive emotions!! this book is filled with so much help & advise for both children and parents alike ! I definitely recommend it to as many parents as I possibly can! being that I have had 8 children from 22 to 7 yrs old it has been such an array of 'Parenting styles' throughout my years! I just wish I had access to these sorts of books when my older children were smaller! I may have managed there big emotions so much better than a 'Supernanny' time out which effectively 'ignores' there emotions devaluing them :(

Brilliant book with excellent results.
This is an excellent book for children with anxiety. I have used this book twice with my (now 6 year old) daughter. She suffered with terrible anxiety when she started reception classes and faded away into a timid thing, always crying or feeling unwell due to anxiety symptoms. Because of her age there was really anything the doctor could offer to help. Then someone advised me to try CBT books. I ordered this and 'What to do when you worry too much'. The first time we used the books she couldn't read but enjoyed me reading and us doing the activities together. They completely transformed her, in just over a week we were able to help her control her anxiety gremlin.I think the 'What to do when you worry too much' probably paid a big part in this aswell. From then on she blossomed and if she ever started to have worries then we could remind her of how to cope. She has recently suddenly started to get anxious again so we ordered this book again (as we had given the previous one to a friend who also had an anxious child). And again it has worked its wonders - this time at 6 years old she is able to read it herself but we still sit together to work through it. And she really enjoys doing it - I think she recognises that it helps her. In a little over a week she is beginning to become more confident again - and relaxing more. Now that she is a little older she much prefers this book to 'What to do if you worry too much'.If you have a anxious child I would recommend this book - reading it together also helps you to understand how to help them.It is upsetting and frustrating when your child is anxious and misses out on things which you know they would otherwise enjoy. Reading this helps you feel like you are doing something usfeul to get them past the problem.

Is very helpful
Is helping my daughter no end to understand and think differently about her anxiety, although there’s no way she could do it alone (as the book kind of implies) and she’s 9

A good analogy for dealing with anxiety for young children
I found this book very good at providing an analogy of anxiety being a gremlin which you needed to starve as this helped my daughter understand the concept of anxiety a lot easier. It certainly helped her with her anxiety battles and for me was worth the purchase.

Another sublime book in the range, fixe star work.
I have bought this version and the teenage one as they are filled with useful tools and examples of strategies that parents (or professionals) can use with children suffering from anxiety gremlins.I would say this a must have for every school pastoral department and any parent with an anxious child looking for alternatives and ideas. Super exercises and fun. This will be one of your top purchases and I could not recommend it highly enough. Simply genius, 5 star gold. Hats off to the author (again).Oliver NashAuthor of The Primate Puzzle

A lot of fun exercises to work through
Bought this following a recommendation from a friend. It is recommended for children between 5 and 9 who get anxious for whatever reason. There are a lot of exercises which I like rather than just pages of words. The exercises are appealing to children and actually quite fun to do while giving them an understanding of what they are feeling and why they might be feeling it but most importantly for me, it lets him see that he isn’t the only one who might feel like this. In his words... ‘if there is a book about it then other people must buy the book and if other people buy the book then they must feel the same’. That alone was a great outcome for me!
