Best No-Heat Curler I've Found Thus Far!
I love the look of curls, but I desperately needed to shave time off my morning routine in the interest of more sleep. I'd already tried the flat tube (robe tie?) on top of the head to curl my hair overnight, and the results were never good enough to feel comfortable going out in public. I figured I didn't have anything to lose and gave the Octocurl a shot, and I am SO glad I did!!The "tentacles" ensure that each piece of hair gets the same type of curl and that there's room for every strand. It really only took me 2 tries before the results were something that I could proudly wear out of the house. I've never been great at doing hair, but I can do this with my whole head of (very thick) hair in about 15-20 minutes and have it turn out beautifully in the morning, so I feel like that speaks volumes for the ease of use of this thing. It looks absolutely bonkers, but I gladly endure my husband endlessly humming "Gangsta's Paradise" when I walk by so that I can get heatless curls while I sleep! :)The "tentacles" are fairly squishy (just rigid enough to hold their shape), so they're more comfortable to sleep on than other heatless curl methods I've tried. That said, I do find myself tossing and turning a bit more than usual when I'm wearing this, but that's probably to be expected when you're wearing something different to sleep. If the air is really humid, the curls don't stay in as long as they would if I curled my hair with heat, but they normally last the entire day, and I can revive them on day 2 with some finger curling. (I haven't tried to make these curls last 3 days yet.)Things that have worked for me:1) Dry hair completely before use.2) Put the halo on top of the head (as opposed to around the forehead) to start the curls as close to the scalp as possible.3) When wrapping the hair, I try to keep all my hair at the top half of the "tentacle," and then fold the bottom half over my wrapped hair for some added protection while I sleep.4) Leave a bit of the ends out of the wrap to achieve a beachy look.5) In the morning, I like to undo every elastic first and then gently pull the halo up and off of my head, jiggling it a bit so my curls just kind of slide off. (This seems to make my curls last a bit longer than they do if I have to "unravel" them off the tentacles in the morning.)For reference, my hair is: halfway down my back, wavy, very thick, frizz-prone, and can be greasy at the roots. I purchased the satin Octocurl for long hair, and it's been a good choice for me. My daughter has very thin, fine, short, stick-straight hair, so I purchased the cotton one for her, and it has enough grip to keep her hair in place overnight (although I'm not sure how the cotton affects her split ends). She's incredibly tender-headed, but I'm able to wrap her hair at night with minimal fuss or tears, and her strands stay curled for the entirety of 1 day and then are wavy on day 2.

Does what it promises!
I used the Octocurl the night it arrived, after getting home from work. My hair was dry and had been blown out 3 nights before so getting to the end of its usable life before needing washing but I figured this was a good time to try the Octocurl. If I didn’t like the results, I would wash it out in the morning before work. I used 2 “tentacles” per section of hair, so I wrapped 8 sections in total. I lightly misted each section with water before wrapping, and combed the mist through. I didn’t wrap the hair too tightly, leaving space between each wrap around so the curl wouldn’t be too tight (my hair is wavy and frizzy naturally and takes a curl easily). Anyway, this morning when I took the Octocurl off, I was mostly pleased. The curls were still tighter than I wanted. I wish each tentacle was thicker to easily make bigger and softer curls. I’ll work on my technique to get what I want though. There are lots of techniques in the guidebook to try. I finger-combed the curls a bit, but they were still pretty tight but not too bad. Then wore it all day at work. Tonight getting ready for bed is the first time I really saw them again. Much happier now with the curls becoming softer and looser. The picture is from tonight, after all-day wear. I like this look so will try to achieve that from the beginning. Would normally wash my hair today at the latest, but want to see how to curls hold up tomorrow so I may wait. I did find the Octocurl comfortable enough to sleep in. Main thing was just moving the tentacles away from my face when sleeping on my side or turning over to the other side. It is super easy to use as well. I may try other fabrics (I got the satin one) just to see how things go with that and how he differences in how wet I can leave my hair. Would love to towel dry after a shower and then use the Octocurl, though that’s not recommended. Might work with the absorbent microfiber material though. Anyway, if you are thinking of trying it, give it a go! It’s a great option for no-heat, no fuss styling.

Works great!
Since I don’t want to use heat tools on my daughter’s hair, we decided to give this a try. Her hair is very long, fairly thick. It takes a while to get it all wrapped up, but it gets the job done! She is 7 and always thrilled with the results. She wears a bonnet over it overnight to dry and said it is comfortable to sleep in. Wish the curls held for longer, but that’s probably on me for not using any hair products. Give it a try!

Not as easy as it looks
I tried, like a bunch of times, followed TikTok with tips, but just never gave good consistent curls. Especially if you don't have silky hair. Maybe for shorter thin hair it could work but not thick hair. It's also really a pain to put in. Overall not worth the effort, ashleigh when the curls are hit or miss.

This isn’t for everybody
I ordered the one for mid length hair…unless you have long hair (and long layers if you have layers) I don’t see how this is going to work. If your head isn’t shaped a certain way…I don’t see how this will work. ESPECIALLY if you plan to wear it while you’re asleep. The elastic rings at the bottom are a disaster waiting to happen…it’s easy for hair to get tangled in them but that’s the only way your hair can stay. So I wouldn’t recommend this if your hair is already vulnerable/at high risk for breakage (if it’s prone to dryness, chemically textured, has color/heat damage). It’s not good for your ends. Even though you can adjust the size of the “halo” it’s not going to stay. The “twists” especially at the back of your head are going to start at the middle. It will look like you’ve been wearing a baseball cap on a hot day.
